China economy
« on: January 01, 2017, 07:43:52 AM »
For various reasons, i've been keeping a weather eye on China's politics and economics.
Is it my imagination or is China heading into an inflationary period?  This would be a bit odd since they don't float their currency.  I'm not a politics or economics wonk.  Any of you fine persons understand this any better than i do?  Why would the Chinese government allow inflation to rise - other than the obvious currency manipulation and debt structuring?  In a nation paranoid about unrest, inflation is a dangerous toy.  It often has non-linear responses.

Well currency manipulation is nothing new as the US and Japan both are guilty of that. As far as the rest I don't know anymore than you do at this point. You may find the below article interesting though:

Interesting read U-T

Inflation in China is either GDP related (Prices go up and so does the GDP in the short term) or they are watching what is going to happen around the world. We have all been reading that inflation is coming our way in 2017 for the past 12 months.

As I have written in the past, when it comes to the economy, it didn't matter who got elected President - A rough economic time was coming this year. Will it be a SHTF economy, e.g. "complete re-set" or a serious correction? Nobody really knows.

Stay tuned
