So here I am sitting at my camp site in Cornwall (UK) on payday.

As with any I have a certain amount of the monthly budget assigned to prep.

We have done a basic load of food prep in the past. So there is about a year worth there.

Been concentrating on gear and medical stuff as of late.

After 4 days of double checking our suppliers and Fleabay. I cannot find anything that we need or would like aside from a few VERY minor and cheap things.

Man you have no idea how not only myself but the whole family did a major chill on this.

We are there. We have everything we need for ourselves, extended family, friends and hangers on.

Now we can stock away commodities. Working on longer term stuff for next year. The gear to make wood alcohol for our vehicles. Move to the Isle Of Wight and get a serious boat.

A bit pumped here.

Or the best prep you could do.  Get a shipping container, stuff it all (including them) in it and send everything to Idaho.

Congrats Gadget! Me/we/us are not there yet although with the addition of the ham radio we are closer.

What needs to be done is to do an inventory of what we have to determine what we need to buy/trade. We did a inventory of "bullets" part of the 3B's. We are good there. We now need to push resources to the other 3B's though. The tendency of my group is to lean to fun stuff ala the bullets part and the associated gear. 

I know we have covered this before however it is worth covering again and that is TP (Toilet Paper for you Obama supporters). I will start a new subject on that one if I can't find the original subject line and resurrect. I little teaser though...You do not need TP to clean up

I must caviat my declaration though. What I meant is that we have hit the point where we have the essentials and a bit of extras.

Doing another full inventory and reorganisation soon. That will expose any holes or good to get items.

Haven't done it myself, but I've heard that phone books, which are generally free and widespread, can be used as TP if you crumple up the pages to make them softer. Anyone done this?

I encourage stocking TP, John Wayne Paper and extra..
when i was a kid my great grand parents lived in a house with no electricity or running water - they did use propane for heating and cooking.  I got up late one winter night to use the chamber pot and found it was a bit too full.  so i put on my coat and went to the out house.  after i finished up i discovered that the TP had been moved into the house for the evening and my only other companion was a sears catalogue.  if you rip out a page and crumple it up enough it will serve.  funny, i thought i was going to get in-trouble for ripping a page out of the catalogue and found that it was there for that purpose (and entertainment while otherwise occupied).

phone books work better because the paper and ink dont need as much wadding up and unfolding to make it, er, absorbent.
Just rip a page out, crumple it up and rub the page against itself to rough it up a bit and use as needed.
