Bug Out Locations.
« on: November 06, 2011, 06:43:26 AM »
Alright, I know this is a sensitive opsec question. But what does your BOL ( Bug out location ) look like?

I'm going to be going out to mine today to get my father some pictures. ( He's really home sick as of late ) So I figured, aehh, why the hell not post it up here, I mean. Really can any one tell where it is by looking at trees or rocks? If so, the have probably been there prior any way. I am willing to bet no one has been to mine. You'll see why soon enough.
Pics to follow later today.

I'm kind of bugging out before end of the month.

I'm moving from the Federal District where 3 million people live surrounded by a metropolitan area with 12 million souls, to a small city with 130,000 inhabitants in the hills.

Moving sucks, but I'm sure is for the better, besides, if SHTF while I'm in the Federal District I'm pretty fucking dead.

The one of the bruise is when I fell out of a tree... long story short it was quite a fall about 20 feet to the river bank. I maintained my self though. + 1 on Camel back products shit took a solid impact from a 205 pound dude on a 20 foot fall and didn't split or brake any seals. More of a review to follow shortly.

Yep, that looks like Florida.  If I walk 100' straight out my front door I'm right in the middle of the same type of stuff.  Then that stretches over to Florida's west coast only being broken up by the occasional grove, road or highway.

Did you find any hog or turkey tracks out there?

I'd leave that spider right where he's at, I've seen grown men lose it over bugs when they know better. Consider him a trail guard. Those pictures are florida at its finest right there. Looks like wet ground by those elephant ears.

And lets not forget their little trip wires. If you use a trail regularly and notice that you are constantly catching spider webs in the face. you could use a lack of spider webs as an indicator someone or something has recently passed along that trail. just another use for your friendly neighborhood spider man.

I didn't even know what a "brown recluse" is, so I google image it and after seeing the injuries its bite produces I can tell you I got scared of them too :D

I'm going to leave it natural for a bit. My body hurts currently. I'm out of action for a few days.
Landed pretty hard on my spine.
Eventually I'll go out there and clear out a little section. But I'm not going to leave any gear out there unless its buried.
Remember I still got my original BOL as well. & its got a fresh water well.

I'm going to try an bug in here in Florida if possible but it all depends on the situation.  There are 27 adults in the group with a broad spectrum of skills.  Everyone is at least related to a couple of other people in the group.  I'm sure there will be others that join in as well.

The community I live in wouldn't be hard to defend and is on the outskirts of town.  It has adequate water for gardening and a surplus of fish.  Plus a 100' march out the front door and I'm in the woods with plenty of wild game.

If I'm forced to leave due to whatever situation arises I've got a few options.

I could move inland in the woods.

We have an invite to come to Wolf Laurel in the mountains outside of Mars Hill, NC.

We own property outside of Hardy, AR which is very secluded, has water and significant wild game.

If Florida, being a peninsula, is sealed off due to martial law (which would be easy to do) the group has access to a 35' sail boat to head to the Caribbean, South America, or to one of the southern gulf states.

Which avenue we would take, as said earlier, would depend on the situation.

No offense man.
But I would leave you at the camp until you get a tad bit older.

Your better off studying maps. Cooking cleaning and gathering water. I know it sounds shitty, but your to young to risk death. You are the life blood of our country and if You where in my group you would not have a say. until you proved yourself otherwise. & eventually you would get your chance.
