Taxes must go up
« on: November 09, 2012, 01:19:50 PM »
I dont have a video or article but i just watched Obama speak on the Deficit. He said if Congress dosent come to a deficit reducing agreement then on january 1st everyones taxes will go up. So bassically get ready for your taxes to go up....  [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at

Start cutting shit!!!! Only way were getting out of this is if we start fucking people over... By all means cut me loose of any government dependency. If it means my job, by all means cut it... Americans dont NEED green grass in their parks... Theres no way in hell were ever getting the Deficit or Debt under control. Screw the college kids, screw the welfare, screw all of that, ride out the storm, and get back on track.

Unfortunately it isn't that easy to get on track. We can't just simply cut spending because if we do our revenue would decrease as well. There are a lot of good YouTube videos explaining our money system. Basically if we quit borrowing from the fed, the economy would stagnate because banks can't loan as much money for
Houses and cars and businesses. And if people aren't buying and selling the government can't get enough tax revenue to pay off the interest from the money it borrowed in the first place. So it's a never ending cycle. Might as

Well arent you just a parade killer lol... I know little to nothing about Economics but im a type A personality that just wants to force shit when its not working.

But let me ask this. How would cutting things like welfare hurt the overall income of the Federal government? Maybe im wrong but how would giving out say 1 billion in welfare return to the Federal Government MORE then the 1 billion they gave out? Sure that money can be spent and then can be reused by the ones who it was spent on and all that...but surely it wont ever equal the amount that they paid out. If it did then all of our problems would be solved as we could just hand out shit tons of money and get much more in return.

If this worked then so would an electric generater that could power itself and then have some left over to use.

Barter man barter! The government can't collect tax on a barter  :))

I just traded an 18" Ash tree (Got blown down in the 2011 Irene Hurricane)  for firewood. The guy is going to cut it up and split it. I get half and he is going to take half.

I bought 50#'s of all purpose potatoes ($10) and 50#'s of red Potatoes ($15) and traded them for 25#'s of a recently butchered hog from the neighbors. The potatoes were grown on a potato farm just down the way from our house in RI.

The farmer across the way from the BOL traded a barren Holstein cow for a milk giving Guernsey. Once impregnated the Holstein will give more milk than the Guernsey but the Guernsey will give mike higher in butter fat.

Barter man barter!

That's what I'm talking about. I'd rather it start happening now. I'm tired of all the giving to the takers. Let the well run dry. They're only hurting themselves. We're already hurting, and have been. I'm tired of being used. Let them hurt too.

There's currently not much we can do about the economic distress, other than what JM is saying about bringing back the barter system.  I'm not going to give up my job or funding, but I am going to continue to buy local and buy American to put money in the pockets of those who work for it, cash if I can when buying from locals in case they need something to stash under the mattress where the guns used to be.  I'm also going to work harder toward a sustainable life-style that will put me in the market to barter when possible.  Even though it already was for many of you, the emphasis is on you and yours now, and the government's just back round noise- that is anytime but tax time.  Especially with the recent epidemic of gun selling and what not, more than ever it's time to think chickens, cows, gardens, greenhouses, food dehydrators, solar panels, blacksmithing, etc...

It's only what we make of it now, I seceded mentally last week...

It's a combination of many things.  I only feel I have full authority to speak on this because I DO have a degree in Economics.  The knee-jerk "cutting $hit" doesn't work.  Our entire financial system is of the fractional reserve variety, which cannot create money without creating debt.  According to the Constitution, the Treasure has the Power to tax us directly.  Instead, it borrows from the Federal Reserve (a private, for-profit bank) and we the taxpayers have to pay that back with interest via bonds, bills, and other bullshit.  In other words, we don't only pay taxes, but we pay INTEREST on the taxes we pay.

I despise the average welfare recipient as much as the rest of you, but defense contractors get far more of our hard-earned $$$ than the crackhead welfare people ever did.  Experimental hardware that never came to be, overpriced hardware that barely works, the latest-and greatest shit we don't need, etc.  Remember the F-22 Raptor?  For the price of ONE of those the entire Humvee fleet of the US Army and Marine Corps could have been up-armored in Iraq and Afghanistan but instead we got the answer of "don't have the money" and US soldiers and marines died.  Our system is beyond broken.  Cut taxes - that is what spurs an economy... Every one is talking about How we got here, how to recover and who's to blame. Its all history now. Even if Obama lost we would still be in the same boat, it may have sunk a little slower, but sinking is sinking. I'm just a little speck in the big bad world. But I'm not going to sit here and worry about all the distracting issues. If someone finds a fix for the world, then great ill buy that person a good bottle of scotch. But in the event things fall apart. I bought it cheap stacked it deep and prepared to hold what i have. The truth is we all started prepping because we don't have faith that the issues of the world will be peacefully resolved. perhaps were wrong. If that's the case then us and those like us have a allot of beans to eat. But if were right.... Well we just need to keep an eye on the horizon, scan our sectors and keep our powder dry. The rest is for the historians to sort through.  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

All good points WhiskeyJack!

I am now of the opinion that the verbal war is out of our hands now, since the media is 90% on the other side. Schools fall into that same category too. If I had kids I would home school them if my state allowed.  :))

Last, I am a bit more paranoid today then I was lets say a month ago. I guess it is time to execute on the last items of the todo prepping list.
