Title: Baltimore Riots April 27, 2015
Post by: JohnyMac on April 27, 2015, 09:06:28 PM
Lets use this space to discuss how organized the rioters were and the city .gov was not; not the politics behind the riots.

Between all us ladies those kids who rioted were WAY organized.

For a while, the trouble makers inside the riots, were throwing cobblestones and bricks with impunity. Some police officers had night sticks and shields, but most had nothing. Very few officers had gloves. What happened to shotguns with rubber pellets or pepper shot? Woefully under-prepared & under equipped. The news has portrayed the mayor as promoting rioting and complete disregard for property owners rights and the rule of law.
Not sure of the organization of people, news was focusing on looters and police inaction.

I can't wait for it to happen a little closer to home.

RvR, I was thinking the exact same thing  ;) Will the spirit of the protests spread to other cities? Philly? Newark? St. Louis? Memphis? ______?

Baltimore Mayor: We gave them space to destroy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_5KQC7k8Lc#ws)

I suspect that this YT video will disappear. The Mayor stated in last nights news conference that, "I never said I supported violence."

If you get a free minute read Bracken's piece that Erick recommended earlier.

On another note: I am so impressed by the organization of the rioters, e.g. Communication, urban dress (Black clothes with masks), weapons (bricks not guns), sheeple types looting to confuse the issue while the hood soldiers did their thing, etc. This drama was NOT a spontaneous uprising it was well organized.

Will this drama be a training grounds for future drama's?

Without reading Brackens piece, the rioters while marginally organized, have no agenda but to loot.

I disagree Crudos.

A few years ago I went to some OWS work shops and one boot camp. Much of what I saw on TV last night we talked about and practiced.

So the urban soldiers acted based on natural feeling's or they had some training. I would bet that behind the scene there was some coaching.

Do criminals need coaching and training to successfully commit a crime? From what I've seen, it's just a bunch of idiots, egged on by criminals looking for an easy score.

Fox News has reported a data mining company has tracked about 30 or so cell phone accounts and twitters and such to organizers in Ferguson.  Company wants to stay anonymous because of what it does.

Seems some professional experienced organizers and/or anarchists have found their to way to Bal'more.

My opinion on the store owners is this.

1. It's your business go protect it.
2. If you can't protect your business because asinine gun laws well, maybe you should have ignored them.
3. The first person that throws a rock at my window catches a 122 grain full metal jacket.
As does anyone else that tries to follow.  Everything else will sort itself out. Your business will be safe after the first cockroach is squashed.

I agree RvR!

I was saying to my wife Monday night as we watched the drama, "I would have been sitting inside with all of the lights on with a shotgun across my lap. The first person who crosses our threshold would receive a dose of 00 buck."

Why didn't folks do that? There may be some draconian handgun laws in Baltimore but not on shotguns.

Peaceful assembly is protected..... felonious destruction of property, burglary, robbery, etc. is not. Start putting them down, it'll stop. If cameras can catch them in the act, surely a scope can.

I would also suggest a 12 gauge due to the commonality of such and you just might not need to discuss the issues with the cops should firing be necessary.

I would suggest a couple sandbags on the floor by the front door/window.  First round or 2 should be directed into that.   Unwanted guests should find another place to go immediately after and save you the headache of dealing with body disposal.

And if not, you have round 3-8 to continue to try to change their mind on on where to shop.

If 3 or 4 were were necessary, I would suggest skip fire.  One or 3 hit in the lower legs would surely convince the rest to go away and certainly reduce follow up headaches for you.

If more than 4 were necessary, CoM, until empty, proper target variance, drop that weapon and pick up the modern sporting rifle right next to you and be ready to continue firing as the situation requires.  At that point judicious marksmanship would be necessary.  Spare magazines very close and easily accessible.

I just can't help but wonder how effective #4 3" magnum would be given the situation.  :coffeeNews:
