Title: Alternate Unemployment Rate 22.9%
Post by: JohnyMac on February 15, 2016, 09:10:08 AM
I ran across this site (http://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/unemployment-charts) that claims that the US unemployment is actually 22.9% not U-3 5% or U-6 10%

Thoughts?

The low number the administration gives is those who collect and are actively looking for a job. The rest who are on unemployment and not looking for work are not counted neither are those who went on S.S.I. disability.  If you remember almost everyone who ran out of 97 weeks of unemployment went on disability. They play with the numbers.

And the actively seeking that are counted are only the ones who are seeking through a state unemployment office or some type of company like the various temp agencies.
