I researched it.  Yeager's argument has ZERO factual basis.  Look up the SAAMI pressure specs for both the 9mm and the .40.  They are IDENTICAL!  If you take in to account that a lot of shooters carry +p and +p+ in 9mm that further invalidates the argument.  I dunno why so many listen to this puke.  He is not a guru.  He is a self-proclaimed self-defense ninja, nothing more.  I'll bet one of his "students" was Tex Grebner. One of his students WAS Tex Grebenr actually! LOL [url=http://yoursmiles.org/p-m

He took several classes from Yeager- He was all on Yeager's penis.
At one point I think James asked him to chill the fuck out. Tex kept giving bad pointers based
on what he learned and was acting like an instructor of some kind-

Skip to about 2:30 and enjoy- LOL

Tex on Tactical Response

I believe Tex complete the Tactical Response instructor course sometime later... and then fucking shot himself.  [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at

In all fairness, Tex is kind of an uncoordinated and clumsy fellow, no matter what.

Exhibit (a)
Check out his ballerina act, not exactly twinkle-toe material. He is a dual pistol wielding stud for sure though.

Sure is ad hominem up in here.

All pistol rounds are pretty much the same, if you put them where they need to go, they work almost identical, if you miss a vital area they are all about as equally ineffective.

9mm offers the most capacity, lowest recoil, and lowest cost per round, other rounds do not offer any significant advantage.  9mm is also the deadliest pistol round in the history of the planet.  Oh, and when you shoot 5,000-10,000 rounds a year, 18 cents a round compared to 30-35 cents a round is a big difference.

It's better to have it and not need it ...

35% more energy isnt a significant advantage? If 9mm is the most deadly round on the planet then the gang members beloved .22lr is the second most... but i aint shooting that crap... Again nothing wrong with 9mm but no need to say crazy things to make it sound even better lol... 9mm is good because it costs less recoils less and still usually carries enough energy to do what you want it to do. It is not the end all be all of ballistic science. It is not a magical round that kills better despite much less energy. Its less effective ballistically but the other advantages simply make up for it.

I'll shoot anyone with any round available to me. I won't will because of the gun or the round-
I'll win because of my dedication to training.

I lived in East Oakland for 7 years. I wouldn't leave my house to walk 100yards to
the liquor store without packin'. At the time, CCW in that area was nonexistent and not
an option- I valued my life more that catching a misdemeanor though.
The smallest gun I had at the time was a Walther P22- it was better than not having a gun at all. You bet I'd have used it of I had to-

I have another Oakland story- I saw a guy get gunned down not more than 20ft from me by a
guy with a .22. The guy ended up living, but he was pretty much begging to die , he was is so much pain. All looked to be poorly placed shots, the best being abdominal.

No, not unless you're James Jaeger, of course I kid.  I don't know anybody who is that good.  I don't consider it a proper offensive or defensive round out of a pistol.  Out of a rifle and a decent scope, silenced, it could make for a nasty headshot weapon within 100 yards to be honest.  It sucks in just about every category, but the few I mentioned.

It sucks at barrier penetration, it sucks at size and speed, but I'd rather have a .22lr on my instead of nothing at all.  I've heard many spies use a tiny .22lr, because its better than having nothing, especially when in a foreign country where firearms are difficult to come by, and you have to deep deep conceal.

I would like to add to the discussion.  The 9mm might be the deadliest pistol round on the PLANET (that is only 'cuz it is NATO standardized and so ubiquitous) but the centerfire handgun round that has filled the most bodybags in the US is...drum roll please...

I wonder what caliber has killed the most people, shot/death ratio... talking about the body counts worthless unless you add in the survival count. The flu kills 30,000 americans a year but im not going to carry a bottle of the virus as my self defense weapon.

I would probably say 7.62x39 only because of the sheer amount of weapons and ammo sent world wide. Other than that. I would safely say the short sword.

Dudes, Its an easy fight to win...this caliber argument BS is stupid.

Pick what you want and get good with it. I chose 9mm for its properties. It does the job, Fast follow ups, high capacity, cheap bullet. I'm a prepper & I'm usually broke. The money I pay, I like to get a lot for. If it shorts me out " 35% more pressure " Then so be it. That is a risk I'm willing to take. I'm also prepping for not only my self but my family. If I struggle with .40 due to its snap. I know my wife will. And my kid when he gets into handguns.
9mm will do for now. (  Keep in mind that does not stop me from having a 45 on hand, or a 454 Casull for that matter ) You guys get my point.

Pick your poison. And like Tech said. TRAINING is key.

Bullshit.  If for not other thing it is cheap, and suppressed, it is very quiet subsonic.  If put in the right place, it is deadly.

If I had to guess, 7.62 x 39 would probably be the round who has killed most people out of all rounds, and mostly probably out of AK47's.  Its just a guess.  I'd love to be proved wrong, so I would know for sure.  It would be a great factoid to know.

Carrying a weapon was only a misdemeanor? How long ago was this?

Unless you're in a school zone or in the commission of a felony or something like that, circumstances depending-
As far as I know concealed weapon (PC ? 12025) is only a misdemeanor in the state of Ca. , again depending.

If it changed, and it could because of all the UOC/OC, it was recently.

I think for the first offense of being found carrying a concealed weapon without a license should be a misdemeantor everywhere, in fact, I don't think there should be any licenses to carry a firearm at all, but then again, that is very idealistic of me, but that's the way I feel about it.  I think all those yummy NFA items should be 100 percent legal to keep and bear as well, and of course, that's very idealistic of me as well.  I believe in freedom and liberty, it sucks to not have it.

Not likely. You may be arrested and booked, likely released quickly (24hrs). That would likely be up to the officer and the
circumstances in which you were found in possession of a concealed firearm.

Dude, some traffic offenses can be a misdemeanor instead of an infraction in Ca. Most people don't sit in jail
for a single misdemeanor offense.

I have a Lawyer, so would I see jail?- NO. Is it possible I'd spend a night in jail?-Yes.
I suggest you, as a Californian and gunowner, get yourself a gun specific lawyer and take their advice. I'm not a Lawyer.

In Georgia, an officer can take you to jail and book you FOR ANY misdemeanor traffic violation, or ANY minor misdemanor violation on our books.  Its really fucked up.

Like in many States, I would much rather have just a simple low priced ticket for these simple misdemeanors instead of the LEO to have the authority to ARREST you for such a small infraction, if he wants to, becaue he wants to ruin you financially and screw up you days as well.
