I never heard of the "three stupid rule" but I'll tell you what, I think it's great.  My wife and I were discussing a few weeks ago how it seems every time one of these female college students go missing it's because they were out walking alone in the wee hours of the morning.  Stupid, stupid, stupid!

very good post! I feel the same way. I dont have my CCW...yet, but I do open carry. And yes, 9 times out of 10, people find themselves in bad situations because they did it to themselves. Not that we go out looking to be attacked. And remember, for that 1, SHIT HAPPENS!

LOL that was a very nicely articulated hit piece on open carriers, even though the author claimed it wasn't.

He is right about a lot of things, but some of us do carry for political reasons, educational reasons, and deterrent reasons.  I'll top this off with saying that I open carry or conceal carry depending on the circumstances.  I'm more comfortable with open carry because of my back problem, it just hurts me a lot less.  Also, as much as I've tried to practice my CC, I still every once and a while get my shirt caught on the hammer, a deadly error under pressure that could easily get me killed.  No thanks, I'll continue doing both.

Do not go stupid places, with stupid people, and do stupid things.

best advice you can get a young person
i sure wish i would have obeyed this rule

as far as the article goes, i agree on some things but open carry certainly has it's place in society as does cc
