Valhalla Custom Knives "Sheath"
« on: January 25, 2019, 10:45:25 AM »
As some of you folks are aware, I have been looking for a Kydex knife sheath for one of my utility knives. The sheath and knife would live on my battle belt replacing one of my current gutting knives. After a long search, I eventually ran across Valhalla Custom Knives located in western New York purely by accident - Or was it an accident.  ;) Anyway, here is a quick review with pic's of my new VCK sheath.

I sent an email to VCK inquiring about their knife sheaths and received an email back from the company within a few days letting me know the approximate price and they explained that to do the very best job, they needed the knife. Their business address is a P.O. box so I sent another email letting them know that "you can not send a knife through the USPS system and UPS does not deliver to the US Post office ala a P.O. Box - Please advice" VCK responded and suggested I wrap the knife well and send it via USPS, which I eventually did.

I sent the knife, a detailed list of wishes for the sheath I wanted, and $100- in cash. The money was sent for the estimated price of the sheath 'plus' and return postage.

Yesterday, I received my new sheath. It was about a 14-day turnaround time from time I sent my knife till final product. Very good turnaround time in my opinion. I opened the box and what stared back up at was a very good looking Kydex sheath with a molle setup, for my battle belt (See pic's attached).

The sheath was exactly what I was looking for! The quality was A+ and I am very happy with the final result. If anybody needs a sheath, I would highly recommend VCK due to workmanship, turnaround time, and final product.

My only criticism is, I would have liked to have received an email from VCK letting me know my knife/order was received. Then an email or quick phone call to confirm the price of the ordered sheath and a confirmation of what I wanted. In all fairness though, maybe the letter I sent was enough for VCK to go forward with making the sheath. I would have liked a final invoice too, to make sure I had forwarded enough money for the sheath & return postage or a potential refund. In essence, this small enhancement is petty on my part however, being in business for 40+ years and being married for 43+ years, over communication is always appreciated.

In closing, if you need a sheath I highly recommend Valhalla Custom Knives.

That looks like they did a great job.  Almost anybody that is a quality Kydex bender will be able to make something like that as well.  Jeff at RDR made me a kydex sheaths for my Coye and Freeman knives.  There is nothing like having a fixed blade knife on your battle rattle. :bravo:
