As I need glasses to sharpen up distant images, I have been moving away from red dots to variable scopes that have adjustable eyepieces. Been using a pair of VCOG's for 2 weeks now and I have to say these things are great. 1-6 power with illumination from an AA battery. I have both reticles, segmented circle crosshair and horseshoe dot. The horseshoe dot is the better choice, at 6 power, the crosshair covers up a 6 inch diamond at 100 yards, while the dot fits inside a 3 inch diamond. These are bright and built like a tank, but are a bit heavy. I have one on an ACR and one on a SCAR 17, so I went with the thumb screw mount (screws on right side). Plenty of adjustment on the eyepiece, so I am good with or without glasses. I am very happy with these and will be adding a couple more when I can.

Very cool DM! A bit out of my price range though.

Mine too. But I will claim dibs on any he gets frustrated with and throws into the trash can! I get to go to his house and get it out.

Thanks guys. with the current sales, these run around $2,000-$2150 and include the picatinny mount. Not cheap but will last a long time.

But I still claim first dibs!!

I have learned in life that you get what you pay for. Trijicon makes quality goods!

The VCOG has one of the nicest ranging reticles I have had the chance to use. Possibly the only one that is as intuitive out to 600yds is the Elcan Spectre. Either one will cost you $2k+. Either one is incredibly rugged. SCAR 17s are tough on Optics, it will be interesting to see how the linear battery contacts hold up. I used to use a Leupold MK6 1-6x on my SCAR. When I sold the SCAR the new owner started using a VCOG and he has loved it.
