As I need glasses to sharpen up distant images, I have been moving away from red dots to variable scopes that have adjustable eyepieces. Been using a pair of VCOG's for 2 weeks now and I have to say these things are great. 1-6 power with illumination from an AA battery. I have both reticles, segmented circle crosshair and horseshoe dot. The horseshoe dot is the better choice, at 6 power, the crosshair covers up a 6 inch diamond at 100 yards, while the dot fits inside a 3 inch diamond. These are bright and built like a tank, but are a bit heavy. I have one on an ACR and one on a SCAR 17, so I went with the thumb screw mount (screws on right side). Plenty of adjustment on the eyepiece, so I am good with or without glasses. I am very happy with these and will be adding a couple more when I can.
