Today I want to review UW Gear’s 3 Mag underarm/shoulder rig.
Not sure what UW gear calls it, as I bought it used, so I call it the “Prepper Rig” or even “Prepper’s Delight”, because that is what it is.
Conceptually it is broadly similar to the traditonal “throw over your should Bandoleer”.
Those usually have problems though, in that they flop around when you walk or work.
In Big Army/Big USMC in recent years that didnt seem to be much of an issue.
But for a civilian who wants to have a reasonable supply of magazines with him while working that may be an issue.
That working civilian needs something that stays comfortably out of his way, while working the homestead so he can focus on his job and not be tempted to leave all his mags at home.
Big uncomfortable rigs don’t get carried much especially when busy, the way small comfy ones are.
I don’t know if this was what UW Gear set out to create, but IMO they made the perfect Prepper Rig.
It comes with 2 straps, one to sling over the shoulder to hold it up and a 2nd one that runs around your midsection to keep it from flopping around.
The workmanship is fantastic.
Everything is double stitched and the entire rig is easily adjustable for perfect fit even for my XXL frame.
And both straps come with a nice clip for closing and fast opening.
Perfect for wear around the homestead or even for light patrolling.
