Nokero N220 Solar Powered Light Bulb

Hey Gang,

Our good buddy Walker dropped by for supper tonight and brought us the coolest little gadget, he was kind enough to share with us so I am going to share it with you.



This wicked little light is solar powered and bright as all get out! On about an 8 hour charge you get 6 hours of light at 14 lumens or 3.5 hours at 31 lumens. Not only that but it will charge two AA batteries.

What impresses me most about this light is how well thought out it is.

The included stand allows you to point the solar panel directly at the sun no matter the angle and provides for a very stable base. They have also included a hanger which allows for you to hang the light overhead or set on a table but the most impressive feature is the built in photo cell that shuts the light off when it's not dark! You guys might not be impressed by that but I am, it means you can hang it up in a window and it will charge until it is needed.

I saw this TG & Walker and a "thrill went down my leg!"

I just ordered two. When they come I will report on how well they work.

Now on a different gear but going in the same direction...

We have been trying out a Coleman battery powered lamp that puts out 580 Lumens. We get about three nights out of it before we notice a noticeable decline in light. At which time we have to recharge the 8 "D" batteries which takes 12 hours to recharge (Charger can handle 4 batteries at a time).

The charger can charge AAA, AA, C, D and 9Vlt batteries and can charge with 120vlt or 12 vlt power. My problem is it keeps breaking. I have repaired the charger twice and it is a piece of crap. I am actually on my second charger as the first one I returned after I fixed that one several times.

My questions is: Does anybody have or seen a 12 volt battery charger that they like...That is durable?

Does it allow you to charge using a cigarette lighter 12 volt or strictly 120? I didn't read anything in the specs that said you can charge with 12 volt & 120.

Dang Walker.. if it takes drinking any of that nasty whiskey then it isn't going to happen!

And yes I have taken it apart! I found it to be very nicely built too.

I'm sure that this isn't what you are looking for JMac but my Craftsman 2/10/50amp battery charger will out run the bunny.

O-Kay ladies and gents my two Nokero Solar powered light bulbs came in PLUS the reading lamp.

In conclusion: I think they are a great addition at $27- each to your preps. If in a TEOTWAWKI situation where kerosene is going to be hard to find these lights would be a good substitute especially since you can use the sun to recharge them. If the money is available I am going to buy at least 4 more. On a 1-5 scale with 5 being exceptional I would rate it overall a "3" and a "4" for usefulness and indignity.

On the reading lamp...My wife loves it! I bought it for her 21st AA anniversary. For the past four months up at the cabin she has been reading by a old flash light. Not anymore :-) At $10- a pop I want to buy 2-3 more.

Great review JMac, if you need more hours of light remember that you can charge two sets of batteries in a day and if you take the diffuser off you will get more light out that LED.
