Lol, I can feel the sarcasm.

Hey man, my thoughts are. It won't hurt to try. If worst comes to worst. Then instead of a single ready mag holster. I'll have a double.  :))

No sarcasm brother, these guys saw something wrong and fixed it. More than that they did the rest of us the favor of showing us what it was and explaining why. These guys are thinking on their feet and I genuinely wish they do well, come on man they printed the instructions on a bandanna.. how epic is that?

Looks nice, but I don't like it much, because it will mix your full and empty mags and you could end up reloading with an empty mag, or a mag partially used.

Elaborate.

I'm not knocking or anything I'm just not tracking how this would happen.

If used as a ready mag setup. It wouldn't happen at all. ( As you keep replacing the ones you used in a fight during the lull. )
If used as a full rig setup. Then you need to work on some different muscle memory training cause going for the same magazine pouch every time is going to fail you after around.......60 rounds.

( I say you not pointed at you specifically. You as a general term for everyone. )

My comment was not sarcasm either. I was just commenting on it seems they have a good vision and mission statement consequently they probably have a good business plan.

You only get that if you have a MBA or (Like me) have been in the business world for a few years.

I bookmarked the page.

I think in a high stress situation you'll grab the first mag that your reloading hand reaches, after the first reload you'll have an empty mag in that most accessible position, so the next time you need to reload, your hand will go again to the same place and grab that mag, that now is empty.
In order to avoid that, you'll need to keep track of what row contains empty mags, and if you're fucked probably won't think that much.
So, I think the gadget will screw you up eventually.

In the old school approach, whenever you empty a mag you drop it in the dropbag, so when reloading, your hand won't find anything in its most accessible position, and will keep searching for the next row, and you'll always get a fresh mag.

First off im not retaining empty $20 plastic objects in a fire fight. That EMPTY mag belongs in the dirt. Now if your tac reloading this might come in handy. I would cut off the velcro cover and have it empty in a diffetent spot then my main source. It would be the dump pouch. Run another set as standard mag pouches for full mags.

I agree with APX that youll reach for your less then full mags by accident. But seperate the two and you have pouches that alliw for easier grabbing of the mags. They should market these pouches as just that.

Also this can be done in any double stack pouch you have by inserting a curved peice of thin plastic. If i had mag pouches id do it.

In a long term SHTF situation or if AWB gets approved it could become extremely hard to get those shitty 20 bucks plastic objects :D
You should train to keep them with you if possible.

Only way id retain an empty mag is if there is absolutely no way it could negatively affect my chances of surviving the fight im cutrently in. Having those mags means nothing if im dead. Thats a very rare situation though of course.

Next thing is if you have ammunition back at "base" to refill these empty mags then you have more mags at base too. Or you should. If you are on the move then all the ammo on you is in a mag and youll have nothing to refill the empty mags with.

Not necessarily.  there is a point of having "loose" ammo in your pack aside from what you have in mags.  It is to be able to fill your mags while you have a chance to do so.  Also, you may survive the gunfight dropping mags in the dirt as you flee but if you are in a spot where you cannot get to more mags, then what?  You either have a really shitty single shot or an awkward club.

Also having a couple mags and loose ammo in a pack is just smart and retaining your mags as much as possible could be the key to surviving.  WE do not have an infinite supply or an awaiting supply drop.

***And if you cannot take the split second it takes to retain the mag... you need better cover!  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

***This is said tongue in cheek as no one ever knows the conditions which they will face.

Agh... Now I'm tracking and it makes sense. Thank you for clarifying.

I'm still going to get one. But I like the idea of using it as a readymag setup. What do you guys think? Think the readymag idea is a good idea? Instead of 1 ready mag. You now have two.

@OONW I hear ya i just think if it was me and i was going to carry spare ammo in my bag id have it in mags. The mags are so light. Also if i make mag retention natural ill do it even when i should be shooting and dropping the mags in the dirt due to a serious problem.

The only mags i have are for my pistols but i always dump those in training. If im down to my sidearm then ive got big problems so i can be mad about having lost a few mags when im alive lol.

I see both sides and like you said we dont know what will happen. I might retain mags if ive got great cover and time. In that case id put them in my pocket. Cargo or regular.

Placed an order for one.
It's on backorder and may take a while but when I get it I'll run it through the gauntlet.....If ammo prices stabilize to something non retarded.

Got it in the mail. Just in time for my next training day. Ganna fuck this thing up!

Lol, seems to be pretty solid, so works as advertised. Thing the idea of disregarding the drop pouch for mag retention isn't going to work out. Yet using it as an upgraded readymag system will work better.

We shall see.
