Well, I bought the Glock the other day and now I have to wait through this unconstitutional 10-day waiting period. Now to the point: I'm looking to get a holster for the damn thing and I was thinking about buying one from Parlusk. All of the youtube reviews that I have seen have been glowing puff-pieces, but I ran across m4carbine.net and everyone there just bashed Parlusk. Anyone have one and if so what do you think about it. Thank you, gentlemen and keep up the good work.

Personnaly, I am not a Kydex fan. I think it is the noise it makes when you draw and reholster.
With a few holster disapointments from other holster makers, 90% of the holsters and belts I own are from Galco from PHX.

I like plastic for my Glock, leather for my 1911. don't ask why, it's just how I roll, lol.
that being said, if you're gonna go the plastic route, I'd recommend a retention holster. I wouldn't rely on holsters like the one Parlusk makes. I'm sure he makes them nice quality and all, but relying on friction for retention is a no-go in my book when it comes to the plastic holsters.
check out Safariland. that's what I use and it's good quality and dirt cheap. $30 is what my favorite Glock holster costs. ($75 for my favorite Galco 1911 holster... just sayin..)

I'm also researching holsters for my Glock 17. does anyone have experience with Fobus holsters?

and i don't trust having to unsnap a holster before i can pull my weapon :-\
although for my friction holsters i use leather, i may be warming up to all this new fangled gear but i still want a leather holster damn it

I'm actually thinking about making a leather holster. Guy on youtube has some great how-to video's on making a leather holster with a snap $30 in materials.

DO NOT CARRY A GLOCK IN A LEATHER HOLSTER, unless you love negligent discharge that is.
Pistols with safeties or double action revolvers are just fine but do you really want to carry something that is cocked and locked at all times in a floppy leather glove? Think man!

this is what I use for my Glock. I've had it for a few years and I haven't had any problems with it. keep in mind that this is no good for concealment unless it's cold out and you're wearing a heavy jacket. it doesn't hug the gun to your hip so it prints like a MF'er. it's a great OC holster though. and like I said, I don't know what they're going for these days but I picked mine up for around $30 at the retail level.

OK, we all know the four rules of gun safety, and we all know that that guns don?t just go BANG by themselves. We?ve all been told that a holstered gun was a ?safe? gun. Well, you had better make sure it is! Check this out!
Not sure of the original source, but I ran across this article about a man that had his Glock 19 fire a round while the gun was in his leather holster (Galco JAK202 Slide Belt Holster). Apparently, the holster was rather worn, and the leather soft. This caused the leather to fold, and in this case, enter the trigger guard when he sat down in his car.
Thankfully, he only suffered a minor injury, and nobody else was hurt.

TG, I'll agree with the example you just posted, but IMO it's the dude's own fault for using such a worn out holster. you reload so you know the importance of inspecting your brass for cracks... well honestly I think the same rule applies to all your guns and gear as well. if a reloaded round blows your chamber up because the brass was flawed and the reloader overlooked it, is it the brass's fault?
that being said, I already stated that I prefer plastic for my Glock, but there's really no particular reason for that, just my preference. even though it's not what I prefer, I don't see a problem with a good quality leather holster, especially if it's the type that has a re-enforced mouth. just gotta inspect it from time to time to make sure there are no flaws or defects.

Carry something with a manual safety.

If you consider a holster with that kind of damage functional your absolutely right but I'll stick with my thoughts on leather. Too many manufacturers would be in court facing lawsuits if there was anything but operator error to this and none of them would even make leather for this style gun (or even revolvers that would also be subject to the same kind of discharge from that bit of stupidity) due to the risk of litigation.

Absolutely worth not only noting but a fine visual reminder to check and keep your gear in good working order. I suspect that fellow is gonna pay proper attention to the little things that'll bite him in the ass in the future.
I suddenly feel the need to check out a pile of snaps, straps, leather, web, swivels, zip ties, optic mounts, boots...
Mr Murphy may have been poking thru my stuff when I wasn't looking and I don't like body piercings or coming up empty handed when I grab for something.

I have one of Parlusk's holsters and I'm pretty happy with it. It took about a week or so to get here and it's one solid piece of kydex.
I also just picked up a holster from www.hideousholsters.com (http://www.hideousholsters.com). Took about 3 weeks to get here and it's pretty kickass as well.

yeah, I run a Bianchi with my 1911 ( when I had one ) and my Ruger Security Six fits snug in it.
No possible way to fuck it up either. Trigger completely covered. I'll trop some pics soon maybe if you lucky.

fuck uncle mike. that POS company literally closed it's doors on it's employees one weekend. motherfuckers showed up to work on monday only to find a sign on the door that basically told them they were laid off. uncle mike moved operations to china. could have at least let the American employees know wtf was going on. I refuse to buy uncle mike products.

Wow NOLA, that sucks! I just installed a new Uncle Mike's sling swivel to my rifle. When I opened up the package I noticed, printed on the packaging it was made in China.
I was surprised as I have bought Uncle Mike's products in the past and they were made in the old USA.
Well I will not be buying Uncle Mike's stuff anymore.

Dangerously terrible. Good kydex holsters are not that much more expensive, and if you buy the fobus you will end up buying a high quality kydex (or leather if you roll that way) later.
I just bought a safariland open top light bearing holster for $30, how much is a fobus, like $25.
