Hey Gang,
I recently purchased a Brunton Tag Along for my watch band. It cost me six or seven dollars at the local REI. I tested it out on a 15 mile day hike in the Monzano Mountains.
Partially inspired by the ease and freedom of our Double-Back task light, the watch band compass is equipped with a rubberized loop that wraps around nearly any size watch band, and fastens to an advanced plastic anchor for durability and support. So small, you won?t notice it until you need it.
From
http://www.bruntonoutdoor.com/I can't say anything good about this Compass.
It was 30 degrees off to the right, not that I expected to be able to navigate a bearing off my watch but it would have been nice had it been with in 10 degrees.
It continually pulled at my arm hair and snagged on my clothing and pack.
And the worst thing about it was that it broke before I had even finished the hike!
You can see the rubber bands are torn in this photo.
You can see the profile in this terrible picture. Sorry for the quality.
In summary I would like to say that this isn't the typical experience I have had with Brunton products. While mostly overpriced I find their gear to be top shelf, why they fucked the dog on this one is beyond me. We'll see how they stand by their warranty in the coming weeks.
Thanks for reading and as always, stay Frosty
