Yeah its a neat presentation but a tube tent? They're kidding right?

I'm sure that an intelligent person such as your self Nemo could make a kit like that that's cheaper, lighter and better thought out than that :)

Tent?  HHMMM, I think I put up a bad or too general link.  Try the one down below.

I would be happy with just the tube and smaller jars inside.  That is the really interesting part.

Don't get me wrong it is a fine container and a lovely way to present it.. I wonder if a fly rod tube is 2" inside diameter..

How long end to end, inside length, is a fly rod tube and check the ID?  Variable or a standard?  That would be interesting.  You measure one (your assignment for presenting the question) and I will look to find some good strength type containers for the inside.

Hail, we might go into business.

2" o.d. spice tins are readily had and cheap too. They come in a variety of heights.

These Fly Rod tubes are locally (to me) produced and I will contact the maker when he is back in town about what their real i.d. is.

I'm gonna buy a couple for my flyrods anyhow cause they are so damn pretty!!

Those look real nice.  The tins are 1 1/2 deep so figure 18 in a fly tube (30.5") as I see the page.  That would leave 3.5inches of room for candle/rags/etc.  Or go with 14 and have room for a good belt blade or all kinds of stuff.

That would be IMHO a really nice "under the car seat kit".

Cost wise you are looking at $38 for the tube and $14 for 24 (half case) of inside tins, assuming they fit.  A drill and couple bolts and woven nylon shoulder strap add $5 each.  Call it $57 for each one.

Figure total $114 for 2 tubes and case.  Add shipping of half to one of us would be $15 for UPS priority mail.

Call it $72 for the ordered stuff to me, and someone else does the ordering and shipping-- seems like a great way to work it all out.

Take note those are rough guesstimates of costs and such.

You could also use 2" thin wall pvc if it didn't need to be a metal tube.. that would really knock the price down..

Y'all do realize I am thinking out loud here for the most part.  But this does look most interesting, quite accommodating and very worthwhile.

If/when it comes to fruition info shall be shared.  But again, I might be in a race with thatGuy over there.

Thinking out loud is one of the reasons for the forum my man! We can come and discuss and see if our ideas hold water. Personally I have no intention of making one of these things but I can see a way of improving upon their idea to make it more practical for our mindset.

So crack the head open and pour those thoughts out around here.  I have done it with medium size script bottle for a "get back to the truck/closer to where you can get picked up" while downtown in the big city a few miles from where the friend's car who you rode up in" type kit.  I think I have noted that here.

I finally got around to watching the product review.

Looks like a poorly planned, over priced, waste of weight & space, designed for idiots with too much money.

It does meet all those descriptions, but the general idea of the design works for me.
