My old two-ways (midland GXT650) just got stolen so I've been shopping for some new two-ways......My main concern with this model is that it uses a "special"
battery pack only, meaning you can't use standard batteries in it.

I have burned through so many 2 ways .....mostly water/moisture damage..
My concern also if the battery pack could be removed and standard AAs could be used.
I'm looking for a rugged waterproof set.
