Interested in knowing what folks have as far as knives, either as part of a load-out kit or BOB. Been researching different fixed-blade models and maybe a folder for part of my EDC. My current fixed-blade options are couple of oldies that I've had forever, a PAL RH-50 and a Olsen OK. Both would probably be classified as hunting knives. Also have a Victorinox for my EDC bag. Been looking at SOG alot, which seem to be good quality, without taking out a loan, and won't be totally p.o.'d if it got lost out in the wilds. Sorry if this has been covered already here. Did a search, but didn't find anything about this specifically in it's own thread.

I carry an Original USMC Ka-Bar on my belt. ( need I explain further on the quality of this blade? )

A couple of AK bayonets
Several folders, my favorite is a Gerber which I've had forever.
Almost forgot, I've got a skinning kit I bought from Cabela's.

Got a couple ESEE blades; the 3, 4, and the Izula.
Buck Bantam BHW as my large folder.
Couple CRKT's coming soon.
Got a Cold Steel Outdoorsman light.
Uhm, those are just a few I know off the top of my head. My ESEE 4 rides on my chest rig. Sometimes the 3 rides my belt, usually have the buck in my pocket. Sometimes the Izula. The cold steel stays in a pack.

got a spydrco tenacious for EDC
a nice skinning knife
a sweet "file knife" (made out of a file, sharp as hell) also a skinning knife
and a rajah II EDC/ emergency knife.
and a mass amount of cool old folders and pocket knives
-
For years I would only carry old school folding pocket knives, I would tell folks that if it didn't rust I didn't want it. I got that way after owning a Buck light and a Gerber something or other that both had stainless steel blades. Sure stainless holds an edge but you got to get that edge on it in the first place and I wasn't one to spend a lot of time sharpening a knife.
Well that all changed with my Kersaw Skyline

This is a great knife. It is light, easy to carry, NON Serrated (I don't play that way), cheap and made in 'Merica out of Sandvik steel. Boys I am telling you that if you don't own one you should. You just can't do any better with $30 than this.
Sure its still not as easy to sharpen as those old tempered steel Camp Kings, Old Timers, Schrade and Case knives but it is worth it.
The only other knife that I carry is the 'Stiff KISS' by Columbia River Knife and Tool
(http://www.southwestguidebooks.com/images/primitive_images/crkt_stiffkiss.jpg)
I don't own any that are serrated but I have several that have been pressed into various roles i.e, with the tip blunted off as a 'raft' knives on my life jacket, tied to my pack frame and on my first line belt as a generally stabby kinda thing.
Believe that you don't need a bowie knife to stab people with, sure it may be required equipment in TX but we don't all live there.

My Knife of choice is the Benchmade 551 H2O Griptillian. It is Orange. [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

i have alot of knives but my main ones are a old survival knife that my dad gave me, and a buck nighthawk wich is my favorite.

Got a new CRKT M21-02G. What a nice small-ish EDC blade. I like the flipper on it, it makes deployment of the blade so fast, especially since we can't have autos here in Canada. Came sharp enough to shave with too. The AutoLawks system is something to get use to, but I have seemed to have mastered it already. Only one downside, the pocket clip was stiff as a 2x4 nailed to the floor, but I bent it a tad and now it's perfect.
I'll stop there because I keep sounding like nutnfancy ;D

Do any of you have exerience with the Ontario 1FTS Tango bayonet that fits the M4? Here is an ad: http://www.highreadytactical.com/catalog/product.asp?pid=1028894&ret_id=943830 (http://www.highreadytactical.com/catalog/product.asp?pid=1028894&ret_id=943830)
I would like a fixed blade knife that could do double duty.

Got 2 new SOG knives today,A SOG Agency and a SOG Flash II. Both are very solid so far,
-
My most commonly used and carried knife is my Leatherman Wave Multi tool. I keep a spare with my go bag 1st line.
I have a Military Mora on my chest rig and keep an Ontario 12 inch on my Ruck.
So a knife for each line.
I also have a fairly standard assortment of spare pocket knives and a couple of more militant knives (Gerber MKII, SOG SEAL Pup)

Upgraded my small knife collection today.... Gerber Big Rock. Pretty impressed with this knife, at a great price, imo. $26 shipped. Full tang, with textured over-mold scales that really give it a nice grip, and lanyard hole. Nice hunk of steel at a bargain price. Only thing is the sheath is kind of lame. It does hold the knife really well, but the design sucks. Looking at kydex or leather options.

Comparing new Gerber with my old standby, a 1940's or 50's PAL RH-50, which has seen much use over the years.

My new edc is a Buck Vantage Avid large. Nice steel with 13C26 Sandvik, Bos Heat-treated, great shape and fits my hand. Awesome carry clip. Made in 'Merica, fuck yeah.
-
The Buck Vantage is going great. Paid $25 used for this mofo, bargain of the year so far. Fits and holds great in my pocket, that I forget it's there until I need it.

good old Buck 110, Leatherman Surge, and USMC KaBar live in my BOB.
EDC is usually one of my cheaper Buck knives. (too cheap to remember the model... lol) or if I'm in the mood to go big on the EDC folder sometimes I'll carry one of my KaBar Dosier folders.
I also keep a bag of miscellaneous knives and other small tools. everything from the impulsive purchases of cheap folders from the rack at AutoZone to my Ontario USAF pilot's knife.

At last count I had well over 50 bladed tools (to be fair 15 or so of those belong to my mrs) ranging from ww1 bayonets (which still have a serious edge) to my latest addition my little Smith and Wesson sw990 which lives on me along with my cold steel safe maker and a nice sturdy boot blade . Also including 2 Lasher machetes, 1 axe, a number of handmade knives and swords(mostly made and used by my grandfather). A few frost cutlery and kershaw hunting knives, throwing blades and then a whole mess of cheap, unbranded blades that I wouldn't mind loosing, breaking or handing out. Apart from a few that my mrs carries (she has a thing for switch blades) all the rest are sturdy, fixed blade, full tang, good steel blades.
