Title: Interesting Rifle Storage Option for Trucks/Large vehicles
Post by: rah45 on November 12, 2011, 03:03:11 PM
I guess this should go in the gear section...if not, move it.

It seems that if you could rig THIS (http://www.cabelas.com/womens-sports-bras-rifle-8482-shelf-8482-console.shtml) to use a quick-release, then if the crap hits the fan and you're traveling with your rifle, you don't have to have it wedged up against your leg and possibly impeding your driving. I think it's very interesting. Anybody tried this, or know someone who has?

This seems like a good idea, If I had a ride that could have it I probably would. I don't like having shit in my back seat or trunk.

Could you please provide more info? Could it be rigged somehow to "not suck?" It seems like a great concept. What's wrong with the finished product?

they rattle, they hang down lower than you see in the pic and aren't as convenient to "draw" your rifle out as you think. We road hunt quite a bit here and it's just not as quick as having your rifle next to your leg.

I thought every one out west with a truck had rifle in the back window until you reached the California state line?  Things must have changed since I came east.

Man, I wish.  Here in Florida we don't have the mountains, we don't have the trees, and our substitute deer are all missing their horns and go oink, oink.   They do have tusks though.

I'm trying to remember why I moved to Florida.  Maybe it will come to me about the middle of January.

Something else they don't let us do in Florida.  Too many NYers here I guess.  There are a heck of a lot of people carrying concealed though.  You know how once you start carrying you can pick them out by the way they wear their clothes.  Their everywhere here.  I think there are over a million concealed carry cards issued here now.

Edit:  I hope most of them got more training than they got at the CC course.  Scary thought there.   :o

Sledge, your a Florida dweller. If you get pulled over in the woods. With a spot light and a firearm in your truck/car. Your going to jail.

Look, guys I was being sarcastic about the whole matter. I don't care in the slightest. Sorry I brought it up.

LOL!  I don't hunt in the woods after dark down here.  When the sun goes down those long eared leg gnawing rabbits come out.  Have you seen the teeth on those things?  LOL!
