My only comment would be to look at the MV and extended ballistics of the Sub Sonic 5.56. Speed is what makes that round effective and reducing the speed down below 1050 fps basically turns your 5.56 into a slightly enhanced .22lr. If your goal is the quietest round for CQB type purposes then you may want to consider the 300 BLK. 220gr Subs that will run very quiet through your can. Otherwise keep rocking the full power 5.56 (77gr OTM, 62gr TSX, etc). In a really bad spot needing to shoot indoors the noise will still hurt but your can will bring it down to a manageable level that you can recover from much easier. I run a Sandman K (mini) on my 10.5" 5.56. This is hearing safe but still louder than yours outdoors. Indoors it still requires hearing pro, but in a bad spot it is still infinitely better than the same gun un-suppressed.
I run my Sandman K on all of my guns from the 10.5" through my 20" .224V. I have been super happy with it on everything other than the 10.5". I just purchased a Deadair Nomad 30 mainly for improved performance on my shorter guns. I have put the 5.56 flash-hider endcap onto the K and it does improve both sound and especially the flash signature when on the shorter guns. I am not currently using it with anything over a .224 bullet so I dont need to worry about changing it. If I did I would stick with the 30cal end cap for the same reason you mentioned.
