Bls bag

I finally got my bls bag together (almost). Any comments or criticism are welcome.
keep in mind that this isn't a weekend warrior bag, As such i have things in it that i wouldn't have if i was just putting it together for WROL (such as the BVM).

-BVM
-oral airways
-nasal airways
-BP cuff and stethoscope
-multi trama dressing
-XL sam splint
-2 space blankets
-a bunch of hand sanitizing wipes.
-flash light

This is all in a ziplock bag
-6 rolls of gauze
-shit ton of 4x4's
-petro gauze
-self stick bandage
-4 combine pads

Not pictured are
-gloves
-tourniquet (in the mail)
-batteries for flashlight

stuff i'll be adding
-OTC meds
-tape
-quick clot
-alcohol prep pads

Soon i'll be making up a trama pack that will have everything ill need to control bleeding quickly. It will be located in one of the outside pockets for easy access.
I'll also be adding some quickclot, The kind that has it in the dressing . Shit is expensive at 40$ a pop.
tyenol , antiacid, and meds like that are at the bottoms of the list right now until i get some of the other stuff.

I hope this inspires some of you to advance your medical preps as well

Other forum I was on had combat medics that had just gotten back from Iraq and we helping members put together medic bags (like blackhawk/LBT stomp backpacks) and they emphasized tape, like alot of tape. I think guys usually added about 3-4 rolls of tape minimum. So when you do get tape, I say get alot. Ive seen it pretty cheap at $1 stores.


Masks. For the patient and yourself.

When you can get around to it. Maybe swap out the maglight for a headlamp.

Goggles to keep crap from get in your eyes in certain situations.

Rehydration salts or stuff to restore electrolytes

Chemlights

Dehydration meds (Probably on your OTC meds list)

Well anything that'll help hold things in place so Duct tape is reasonable.

But yea medical tape is the suggested kind. The brands carried at Rite Aid seemed kinda pricey to me just for tape but they were also waterproof types. The $1 stores near me definately have medical tape but Im not sure if they also have the waterproof type as well.

JMAC ill pm you a link to the other forum's thread where you can see for yourself. The guy had at least 10 rolls of medical tape and this was based of off suggestions from medics who were in the sandbox when it was poppin'.

I'm guessing you know to get Baby Aspirin for heart problems, tube of glucose (if you're likely to deal with a diabetic) and a bottle of sterile water might be a good addition.  Good looking out on the headlamp for general illumination, Deathstyle, but a pen light or mini-maglight can be used to assess potential head trauma, airway obstruction, etc...

Another suggestion for diabetics is a tube of icing/ frosting you put on cakes. I few times in my life I have had to squeeze a tube into my wife's mouth.

I'd have some extra gloves. Never know if you pull up on a scene of an accident and it just so happens the car behind you has a doc/off duty EMT who for whatever reason doesn't have a kit of their own.

Also, lots of blood stoppers just stuffed in there are always a bonus. Depending on if this kit is going to be in a vehicle, maybe a neck brace would be a good idea. And even though it's been said, tape! Lots of glorious tape!

I'd also double my lights, keeping a penlight along with a headlamp.
