Belleville Boots Question
« on: August 26, 2015, 10:29:27 AM »
I just received a pair of Belleville boots and have a question for you Belleville aficionados out there.

As suggested by Belleville I ordered one whole size smaller than what I normally wear. I had the option to order medium or wide width so I ordered medium as I do for all of my other boots/shoes.

Well I just slapped them on and the length seems to be good but the width seems to be a bit snug. Not tight but snug. I am wearing normal weight wool socks.

I called Belleville and they told me the boots will stretch and they will form to my feet shortly after wearing them for a couple of days.

Well before I wear them outside have you found this to be true with Belleville boots?

Just for the record I purchased the 550 ST boot.

Any input would be appreciated.

In my experience they will stretch a bit as they said .
Of course I like my boots more snug than most do.

I have the same boot, but mine fit fine in the width so I can't answer for you. They will conform to your foot shape but the steel toe will not. I'd say if they are cfortable in the toe then keep them. When it comes to leather I like to err on the side of tight. Blisters suck at first but they become callouses.

OK, I order a pair.  Wear them for a week and they are too small and did not stretch to fit enough.  What are the limits on return for a half or full size larger?

My 2ยข worth:

I know nothing about the brand in question.

In my 4+ decades of buying footwear for my wide hooves, I've found the whole "you'll break 'em in after time" that the sales weasels try to pitch you is total bs.   If the footwear is too snug at first, it will always remain so.  Send them back while you can.
