Title: Bad Lever
Post by: Hondokov on January 09, 2012, 03:22:41 PM
I have a  friend that runs one.
Every now and then when he empties his magazine and inserts a new one he is forced
to run the charging handle because the bolt did not lock back on the last round.
He loves it ......its still on even though I advised him to dump it......

I've probably put about 1K rounds through mine with a Bad lever on.
In all sorts of training situations. Never ever ever had any malfunction or any issues. Nothing but go juice from me experience.  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

I would blame the mag before I blamed my bad lever.. I've had nothing but joy out of mine.

Maybe a bad mag or two........
He runs nothing but P Mags, could be.........
He also states it runs flawless with GI aluminum's, but he doesn't run those on his FRT rig. Everytime we are out, within 200 -300 rds I catch him at least one time running the charging handle because his bolt did not lock to the rear.

If the bolt doesn't lock rearward I always blame the magazine first. Get him to mark his mags so you guys can figure out if its the same one everytime or use it as an exuse to make a custom hold open out a 9mm hold open.

I love custom parts.

I am going to get something wrong here, I promise.

Colt made conversion kit that let you run your AR15 using 9mm, maybe it wasn't a conversion.. doesn't matter. The bolt catch or hold open was a shit ton longer than the standard .223/5.56 part

So you take the 9mm part and file it down till it is short enough that it doesn't cause you feeding issue but still longer than the original part so it catches the follower of your mag more consistantly.

You can see in this picture how the factory catch doesn't catch the pmag (might be wrong) on the left nor the steel mag in the center... it only catches the follower on the GI mag.

A longer catch would catch them all.. insert japanese animie joke here.

Look it up on Barf.com they got it all spelled out

I dig mine. I run it on both of my ar' s I plan on using it on any platform that it will go on. My ssgt and I both agree that this should be the new standard for the ar platform. I have heard " stories " of contractor's using them over  in the sandbox.  I truly believe that if our troops where traind with this piece of gear there would be a lot less fighters not being WIA or KIA.
In military training they do not get into tactical reloads or if they do its very lightly. This could help bring the the training into a present mode of gun fighting and maybe help us all from not getting killed.  [url=http://www.freesmileys.or

Ultimately that is what it is about UnBroken. Any go-faster that doesn't improve your odds of survival isn't worth it's weight.

BTW, you been ok? How's things?
