Made a video about sewing, with my shooting gloves as an example.
Survival Short #4 Sewing- a valuable skill (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gs3cc7CVWS8#ws)

Nice video! I always think that skills like that are more valuable than some supplies.

Good video Currahee!
The net has all kinds of good stuff like this: http://www.fiber-images.com/Free_Things/Reference_Charts/free_reference_charts_handsewing_stitches.html (http://www.fiber-images.com/Free_Things/Reference_Charts/free_reference_charts_handsewing_stitches.html)
But better yet, the next time you are in a fabric store pick up a book as you may not have the internet available to you.
One of my monthly stops is a used book store. You can usually pick up DIY books CHEAP! ;)

Another good vid Curahee. Reminded me to dig out a sewing kit that has been packed away in a box somewhere after years of moving around.

Johny thanks for that link because I never tried to do any particular stitch and just went to town- and Im working on a project right now that needs that!
I agree that the internets are great for DIY stuff, I have basically given up TV for watching DIY stuff on you tube. Paper books are important though.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who looks at a piece of gear and says 'this could be better!
In my own life I've been sewing bachelor buttons onto all my pants and recently broke a needle.. I didn't know you could break a sewing needle! Time to put some more away.
