So here is what you need to make your own pot cozy.
That is a grease pot from Wal-Mart, a roll of metal duct tape, a Reflectex sun shade for a car and a good pair of sizzors.
First you cut a piece of the sun shade that loosely fits around your pot. You want it to be loose so that it doesn't fight you when you put your pot in it
I had to cut a notch in mine to clear the handle of my pot. I wrapped tape around cut that forms the notch.
You will also notice that I left the 'factory edge' of the shade on instead of having to edge it myself.
You are going to want to cut a circle to fill in the bottom and attach it with tabs of tape. Notice that mine is too small
I will get the next one right but this one works for now.
Now you're going to do the same for the top. Notice that I cut a hole in the top the knob.
And there you go. For next to nothing you now have an insulated pot!
Sure mine is pretty ugly, I made it in the dark but it works great.
The sun shade and roll of tape is more than enough to do several pots and costs less than the cheapest pot at REI. Give it a try, you will like it.
