Hey Gang,
Like the title says I need your help!
I know there are tons of great instant coffee products out there but so far I haven't found one that mixes with cold water and that sucks. Well to be honest Folgers Crystals and Medaglia d'Oro both mix well with cold water.
So the root of the problem is that I want a coffee drink that is sweet and creamy that will mix with cold water.
Anyone know of a good powdered cream that mixes well?

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm That Guy what a good question.
Although I have been known to tip a glass of some kind of adult beverage I will miss coffee in post WROL more than alcohol.
As you well know instant coffee does not mix well with room temp water; however pre-made coffee that is condensed down does mix well with room temp water.
My suggestion is brew up a pot and reduce by 3/4 over a moderate flame. Then when you want a mug add one part reduced coffee to 3 parts room temp H20.
Now milk is another story. Regular powdered milk does mix with room temp H20. OR do what I have done...I bought a bunch of small evaporated milk cans. I am enjoying evaporated milk mor and more. My granmother called it "Bulls milks." :))

Your on your own dude. The only Instant coffee I've ever had was actually dipped. Like tobacco dipped.
Take an MRE open up the condiments packet, separate the toilet paper into as thin of paper as you can get it. ( It gets real damn thin ) Pour some of the given instant coffee into it roll it up like a pouch. Stick it in your lip and suck on that bitch for a few. After about an hour the paper will start to dissolve and the coffee will seap into your mouth. Gives a really nasty surprise. Good luck on your hunt.

Here's an experiment for you to try:
Put some instant coffee into a coffee/spice grinder and run it for about a minute or until it turns into powder. I'm pretty sure it will dissolve a lot faster in cold water in powder form.
Have you tried powdered milk?

No, the issue isn't the coffee or the sugar, like I said Foldgers and d'Oro (d'Oro is and excellent instant espresso by the way) mix well with cold water.
It is the Rich Creamy Goodness that I am looking for, no homo. Powdered milk is too thin....
I don't know about you guys but I love coffee.
Problem is I don't always want it hot nor do I want to take the time to boil water most of the time. Yet I do want that caffeine, sugar and fat. It would be a real Moral Booster to have something easy to carry (no concentrate), store (shelf stable maybe) and make (powder that isn't aquaphobic!) while out hiking, running retarded or working late.

I don't want to buy a whole can to find that it doesn't work.

I love coffee too, and have recently got into drinking my coffee straight, no cream and no sugar. Its taken some getting used to, but its good. I'll do some experimenting around to see what I can do about making the instant better with powdered cream in cold water. I'm sure there has to be some way to do it well. I'll try and do some experimenting That Guy.

Both of these dissolve into cold water:
Carnation instant breakfast (preferably vanilla). If this by itself doesn't give the texture/consistency you're looking for, try adding a little "Thick It" (modified food starch and maltodextrin) http://www.thickitretail.com/Products/Thickeners.aspx (http://www.thickitretail.com/Products/Thickeners.aspx)

Specifically looking for something dry. Something that could ride around in my backpack either at work or play.

CoffeeMate is a huge no-no. We just had some around the house, sure it was old and out of date, too, but I tried it cold. Its a no go, of course, like I figured, but that is one down and a bunch more things to try.

No way buddy, we nailed it. Just working on ratio now.
We are going to us d'Oro Coffee and Jello Chocolate Pudding/Pie Filling. It mixes well with cold water and is rich.
Thanks everyone for putting up with my bull while we worked on this. I did infact call my brother and the conversation was *almost* word for word what he wrote...

Dude they make this stuff that is a powder so its very light weight and it is a way better pick em up than any amount of coffee. Its kinda pricey tho and you can only find it from very secretive distributors. But its will really get you going.
