I wonder if you can make it burn a little faster ( more of an explosive type ) if you add some FFF to the mix?
-
Maybe but I wouldnt wanna chance blowing my hand off

Not a lot bro, just enough to pick up the pace on the burn.
-
If you were going to use them to conceal your movements, I think that would be a must. Why don't you try it out, Reaver and get back to us on how much you added and what the effects of the addition were.

Don't add FFF, just omit the baking soda. It'll burn a LOT faster. Make sure your wick is long enough and you wrap the tube VERY well.
-
That's a good idea. Thanks RD
I'll do two... maybe one with FFF the other without the soda. [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

I use to make this exact same smoke bomb with one difference. Here is my recipe:
1) Mix dry ingredients in a 1:4 ratio Potassium nitrate/ cane sugar.
2) Add dye if you want to.
3) I never cooked mine. This is kind of dangerous and the wife might get pissed if it ignites.
4) Pour into a toilet paper card board tube.
5) Add underwater demo fuse
6) Wrap with duct tape.
To make the bomb burn faster my buddy use to buy magnesium tape or strips and put cut up strips in the center of the bomb next to the fuse.
Enjoy.
I lit one of these in the stair well when I was in high school- It worked GREAT! :o

I could never get this to work, it always just turned into a fireball.
-
While cooking over the stove or upon detonation?
-
A few guys I knew used to make those smoke bombs, but they are useless.
The combustion time is extremely short, the smoke isn't thick enough and just a little breeze will disperse the smoke in seconds.
Don't even think you'll be able to use it to conceal your movements, in the video the smoke looks thicker but is because the cam is really close and only films while the grain is burning.
BTW, you should be extremely careful where you use it as it will set on fire whatever it lands on, a few months ago there was an extremely big fire in a forest originated by some paintball players here in Argentina.

Upon detonation

OLD TOPIC BUMP:
Does anyone know of any legal reason why a homemade electric ignitor could not be used for remote ignition (of smoke device)? Made from 9volt batt(s), speaker wire, steel wool, and maybe a dusting of gun powder or potassium nitrate or a few match heads to ensure ignition.
Where exactly is the legal line between ignitor and detonator?
Also, is there any legal issue of using a metal housing (empty soup can, etc.) instead of a cardboard housing? I think a metal housing would have less risk of catching surrounding material on fire.
-
My opinion:
think blasting caps for a detonator. Basicly a deflageration/ explosion that sets off a secondary charge.
You could get assraped for using a metal housing since it can produce shrapnel which would make your "smoke bomb" a ied.
Best advise don't get caught using them. even though smoke bombs are legal the appearance of the device could fuck you over.

I made these and they work great I run no less than 4 on my black hawk down plate carrier. I'm glad to see such great information going out to the civilian population it means that I will have less to take out in the shit.
