Tried my hand at spoon making.
« on: June 15, 2013, 04:17:24 PM »
So attached are some photos of the spoon I made. I just made it out of a piece of 2x4 I had laying around. The tools I used were a hatchet, Mora knife, mora spoon knife, a small hand saw, and some sand paper.

Not too bad for my first attempt. I literally have no idea on how to make one, I just went out and did it. Still need to do a bit more sanding to it, and possibly make the spoon part a bit deeper, but all in all it came out rather good.

If anyone has any tips to make better ones, and what I'll have to do to make it safe to use with food, then by all means post away!

Cheers!

ETA; It only took me a bit over an hour from start to finish. Also, post #800!

Thanks mate! It really wasn't too hard. Just had to be rather detailed as to not totally screw it up. I think I may try to make a bowl at some point, along with some more spoons and a few spatulas.

When I get at those projects I'll get some more detailed photos of the whole process.

Cheers!
