Realy like this. Im not the only one thinking like this.
-Schools.. middle schools/high schools are the best. Most have solar (like ours,which i helped install)(and the system is a full system feeds a switch gear so you can power a good bit and with a little work store some....) most have block walls, big rooms and courtyards that arent accessable from the outside. You have a willing community/or big enough group thats the way to go. middle and high schools have shops.. metal/wood/ home ec all shops you can add to........... fields for growing most are fenced in........ gym where kids and people can hang out in safety during bad times.......generators, water filters, water collection would be the hardest so some catch basins,tarps, trips down to the local stream. Raised gardens on the roof.. hard to steal........ livestock such as chickens on the roof.....yeah weight weight... i was there when they went over the structure details for us on the solar... the amount they add for snow, and such.. you will be fine.. just spread it out......... on the highest part and or couple sides build little guard huts.. ones that people cant see in to see if anyone is even there.........
- jails (first go there with your team to clear out any stragglers it would have to be late wrol due to the fact it is a facilty which will prob. be maintained for a while) some would be great.. decommision some of the locks would be great especially with concrete walls towers are there.. would be fine.. take some of the steal from doors and bars to reinforce the exterior....

Consider not only tactically accuiring items post SHTF, but also today in your daily life. One thing we've done as a family is to standardize our transportation. We all own one or more trucks of the same year ranges and relevant parts compatability. We all own similar weapons, and store ammunition not only for ourselves, but also in the respective calibers of our family members. Go to the auctions and find some solar panels on the cheap and use the faults in our bloated system to provide more for your loved ones. The government buys all this pork, but they don't want the meat, just the fat.

Hotels have loads of food, bedding, electronics, water, etc. Many of them may have solar equipment/generators. Plus, all those little things of soap and shampoo. Usually a large kitchen too, full of all those fun chef things.
If it's a long term WROL situation, you can set up some LP/OP areas in and around the hotel. Hell, you can even strip the building for things like pipes and stuff for running water in different ways, duct works for a whole host of things, and the bath tubs for vegetables.
I would guess that most people that would be in a hotel would probably be gone after a week or so of a WROL event, but extra caution should be taken. Expect some fuckhead to be around any door or corner. If it's a real big one, and you don't have a whole lot of people, I would probably avoid going in at first, but watch it for a week or so, just to be safe.

Thats Good thinking frosty Their would be alot of supplies at a Hotel or motel. good insight bro.
