US PALM posted on their Facebook page this week that they will be unveiling a new quad stack AK magazine made from polymer
for the 7.62x39 cartridge.
It will be unveiled at the 2012 SHOT Show
The US PALM magazine will hold 45 rounds.
the new magazine at $99.95
I don't know about you guys but an RPK mag can hold 40 rounds if you don't download it while only costing any where from
$9.00-15.00 instead of a hundred dollars. so sounds like a wast to me.

That's some mall ninja shit to me.
You can get decent 40 round mags for $20. Why pay another $80 for 5 more rounds? I'd rather tape two 40 rounders together and spend the other $60 on ammo, food, and hookers. (not in that order)
-
If i remember correctly us palm had some problems with there original 30 round ak plastic mags. They got it fixed but i'd stay the hell away from these mags.
-
lol how retarded.
Damn near $80 for 5 extra rounds.
So pointless.
-
thats pretty gay,
on a side note
does anyone hae links to a good deal on ak47 mags?
i'm an ak noob so not sure what kind are good

hey Mountain i cant seem to find a link on any good priced Ak mags but i usually stick with the Euro steel mags. I would stay
away from the polymer mags because of breaking issues when you drop your Ak.

mtn centerfire systems had some for 10 bucks over the summer i ordered 25 of them. $10 shipping
-
Aim Surplus has some good mags for a decent price.
-
thats gayer then a football bat.
-
Shit!!!!! for $90 you can have a 75 rnd drum. And i never buy poly mags for AKs. it defeates the durability purpose of owning an AK. (RvR back me up on this one).....
-
I got your six.
Buying shit like this ( it is shit compared to milsurp steel ) will put you in the category of an AR guy.
What a waste, save your money buy a few extra steels or a drum and call it a day.
-
i dont like plastic mags on any weapon, they break awful easy when its extremely cold

I will say for a 47 it is stupid. but a 60 round for a ak74 would be great.

Looks like an Idea better served with a Drum or 40's I have to agree with the sage advice already Given, I have heard Palm made mags are good now but I'm not fond of this set up
-
I just saw the mag and it seams to have some advantages over the 40's and the drums. Number one it is shorter, this is good for going prone. it is lighter than a drum mag. Just something to consider. If I get a ak I wlll be sure to pick one up just to see.

I do like how short they are but i am very skeptical of the overall usefulness, one of these things would up both slots of your mag pouch, 25% less ammo right off the bat. I dunno, i'd really have to get my hands on one before I made a real judgment so i'll shut the hell up now. [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

The overall usefulness I'd guess is not much. And while there are certainly other cheaper alternatives available. It does offer 1 thing especially in the 30 rounds quad stack. A more compact overall package. Turns a 30 round mag into the same length as a 20, and a 40 same length as a 30. Again though doesnt seem to be to usefull. At least not for the price, and it says its not user servicable. I'd pass

the mag has a practical purpose there is only three flaws i see is with the new quad stack mags coming online is reliability issues such as when the trigger is pulled and a round goes down range will the mag feed the weapon especially after ten rounds when the springs are less compressed. another point is will the polymer plastic stand up abuse by the user especially in WROL where there is no ability to obtain new mags much less make repairs on exotic mags such as a quad requiring more then one slandered spring. my last point is pricing i am not going to spend more then ten dollars on a AK mag. all the steel eastern block mags have always been reliable and rugged and proven in WROL (look at the middle east).
What I can potentially say about the mag is the ability to be able to go lower while prone and still keeping the same amount of rounds in the mag. I can see it as a good starting mag before reloading to regular mags.
