It seems to me that he thinks this is a new phenomenon, movies and video games are no different than the Greek Epics. It's the same thing just a different medium. Soldiers haven't changed either except for having much shorter leashes nowadays.

Good article, and its probably fairly true.

I knew a Marine one time that was probably the biggest sociopath I know.  Not that being a sociopath is a bad thing at all.  It has its good side in a survivalist sort of way.

Good article. I agree with a majority of what he's saying, but I do get the sense someone feels they deserved a medal for something and has a sore ass himself over it. Could be wrong, but just saying.

I'm really surprised there weren't more comments made on this one.  The writer claims to be a sociopath but then also makes statements of what normal people would feel in the same situation.  Here is the thing, sociopaths don't know they aren't normal.  So this guy is either just f'ed up from the shit he's seen or he's talking shit.  I think it's the first.

I'm still surprised that there weren't any comments about his calculations that 80% of the military are sociopaths who fight for the love of war and killing instead of the flag and freedom.  If his statement is true aren't you concerned about these being the people who would be attempting to round up you and your family during a declared marshal law?

I do agree there are sociopaths in the military and even police departments.  Probably about 20% or so.  They tend to go into those types of professions.  There will probably be a lot more sociopaths in the general public if a collapse occurs and people can't get their medications.

Edit:  For those wanting to know if any of the article I consider to be true.  I'll put it this way.  The human mind has an uncanny ability to adjust to a "new normal" regardless of how ugly or uncomfortable it is.  That is what occurs.  That is also why some guys have problems when they come back.  They have to adjust to another new normal.
