Easiest, cheapest way to get a full auto AK-74 is get your FFL and then find someone that will sponsor a build.

I agree, but I was thinking more along the lines of a dedicated weapon in a community/group whose sole purpose was to provide suppressive fire. .22 is a lot easier to stock up in vast quantities than 5.56/.223, or other rifle calibers.
