I've read the "Being a Grey Man" stuff before.  I understand the reasons why someone would want to be a grey man, but I do not follow that line of thinking right now at this point in time.  It may change as the environment changes, though.

Its an interesting read, but I don't don't agree with it.

In Phase 0 showing that you are someone that will defend himself with deadly force if necessary will save you from some issues, from muggers to bullies in your work and other stupids you found around in life.

Besides, one of the big tasks we have to fight the good fight is to make people around us realize whats really going on, and in order to do that you need to talk about politics, and that violates another grey man directive.

And not using cargo pants? come on man! I can't live without them

Must have cargo pants as well. A good read theres allot of usefull info in that article. I will be utilizing some of it for sure. But some stuff i wont. I just cant get behind hiding from the authorities. that makes it look like I'm doing something wrong. and i certainly haven't. That which thrives in darkness but whithers in the light of day, needs be feared. And the only thing that keeps the authorities in check are people who exercise their rights. and don't get cowed easily. Oh yeah i want those knee pads. those are real nice. Does anyone know the manufacturer?

A LOT of difference from being a victim or being left alone is purely primitive.  How you carry yourself and how you act, be it predator or prey will more likely get you out of trouble unless its unavoidable.  Now days the "tacticool" look is so popular that it would not be uncommon for the average joe to misinterpret someones wear if it was toned down enough.  i.e. Wearing real-tree could just mean you're a hunter, or wearing solid colors could make you look like a skater.

I agree that waking people up is very important, and needs to be done.  But it is best to "test the waters" of someones views, possibly planting seeds of ideas that maybe the way the MSM portrays things isn't true.  If you bombard someone who is fully asleep with the truth they will usually either react by:
1. Shutting down and not talking to you for a while at least
2. Becoming argumentative or even combative
3. Break down emotionally

the "Grey Man" method has a time and place, knowing when to use it and how much will come with time and experience.  Hell, try it out even now.  Dress 0 and walk around the mall gauging peoples reactions.  *Then dress a little more overt and see what happens!

* Don't necessarily do this, you will probably get some unwanted attention! lol

BTW I love the new style of Alta Superflex Knee pads, they rock lol

to APEX, I have to side with the author of the article when it comes to the bumper-sticker politics. we have to wake people up, but I know I've never been influenced by bumper stickers, they really are just a big bullseye for LE. I mean, when's the last time something like this (http://www.stickershoppe.com/mm5/graphics/obama/DDB-12-07.jpg) influenced anyone with half a brain? and to the contrary, how many times has something like this (http://www.ultimateflags.com/images/P/come-and-take-it-bumper-sticker.gif) got someone pulled over and harassed? waking people up can be done with low voices in controlled environments and conversations.

my biggest beef with the article is the fact that the dude advocates bugging out on a crotch rocket??? I don't know WTF he's smoking. now I guess if you're just making quick trips into town to gather up a couple things that you need, then sure, but not for a primary BOV.
