I've seen it and read the book.

The movie is worth checking out once. Kind of a mental masturbation and what would I do in this scenario. Not really any action like the Book of Eli but similar landscape. Very depressing tone and the kid is very ignorant to what I think a child in that world would really be like. Also alot of cannibalism, alot. It's long but I liked it. I could watch a couple more times in my life but I'm a big movie buff. If you're not, than maybe once will be enough. Great acting except for the boy really drove me crazy.  I was hoping that the dad would finally smack him upside the head for being too annoying.

The book was not well written but the story was good and had 2 "scenes" that made it darker than the movie. As far as the writing style here is an example:
"The boy said 'Where are we going father?
The man said ' We're going over there'
The boy said 'Okay'
The man and boy went over there "  :suicide:

I didn't see the movie, but I did read the book.  It was a quick read.  I thought it sucked, and I don't understand how the author has received such acclaim.
