Title: 7.62x39 Ballistics question

Question:

Wasr10/63
7x62x39 122gr Tula
25 yards
Shots were hitting about 1" low.

That should put it dead on @ 50 and 100yds, right?

id say shoot them and find out lol... because according to my calculations it only gets lower from there as you move out for some reason. and that dosent sound right..

Didn't have time today.  Had to get back to work.

cool chart.. but also keep in mind what your zero range is affects the bullets drop as you see it because it changes the angle of the POA. a closer zero range will decrease the seen bullet drop from your POA zero as you increase the range. this is why with AR's for example some times they can be zero'd at one rnage and be pretty flat for a couple hundred yards.. yes a 5.56 shoots pretty flat but the sight height angle to the POI is whats soaking up some of that drop.

Ballistic charts should only be used as a guideline IMO.  Sure, they provide a rough estimate, but keep in mind that they are under ideal conditions.  There is a reason why serious shooters record every single shot out of a rifle....every rifle is different and conditions change.

I know from experience that one of my rifles doesn't follow the ballistic charts...to my advantage though.  It shoots higher than the charts say it will thereby indicating less bullet drop than advertized for some types of ammunition.
