Apparently not content with its efforts so far to make gun ownership more difficult and expensive for America?s 100 million firearm owners, a source tells TTAG that the Biden administration is taking steps to reduce the availability of .223/5.56 ammunition available to the average shooter. - The Truth About Guns (https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/breaking-biden-administration-moves-to-cut-off-lake-city-223-5-56-ammo-from-the-commercial-market/)

Take this at face value.  I have a friend that I shoot with that is tied in with Winchester ammo.  He has told me that the Winchester contract allows them to produce any volume that they want over as long as they first meet any military demand.  For example there is no longer any military demand for M193 yet it is still the highest volume produced by type.  Biden is saying things that he actually doesnt understand....go figure.  Winchester is not going to take a higher than 30% hit to their bottom line.

This is another case of virtue signaling from the Clown in Chief.

Expect this a justification for another price increase

That's okay, in my AO, we rely on those good, ol' lung blowing out 9mm rounds.  I'll keep accumulating ammo as well as possible.  Reloading 5.56 is one alternative, I suppose, or better yet, start relying on 7.62 caliber firearms.
