Title: Wheat berry's

Besides grinding how are wheat Berry's used in a survival situation? What type is best to get?  I heard you can pop them but that is all I know about them.

Another important thing to know.  Asking indicates you probably already do know but you can eat them.  In case you get tired of popping.

WOW Nemo that,s great, exactly what I was looking for. I was contemplating if I should spend what little I have for prepping on wheat Berry's now I know I should. I try to buy one item every week to add to my preps. My medical preps are starting to look great as is ammo.

to add to Nemo's info,
wheat sprouting/microgreen can fill in some vitamin and enzyme deficiencies in stored food.
 good source of B, C and folic acid.  it alters the vitamin profile when sprouted.
no fancy juicer needed, use like any salad green - eat the whole thing, root, leaf and seed. My favorite is on a sandwich, gives a bit of crunch and a nutty falvor.
stretches your stores.  1 pound of seed yields 7-10 pounds of wheat grass.  Use about 1 or 2 TBSP (dry unsprouted seed) per person per day - unless your a rabbit that should be plenty.
the process is dead simple - googles 'barley fodder' or 'seed sprouting' or 'microgreen' for DIY info.
you can mix the sprouted/malted dried & ground wheat back into bread/stews to bump up the vitamin content.
