As a note, stoves and lanterns that are powered by Coleman fuel can also use White Gas, various products by the name of Stove & Light and also the industrial solvent Heptane.  I use only Heptane since that is what we have at work. Only issue is with older units with leather pump cups, will dry out, but can be rejuvinated with a little transmission fluid.
I have found that gasoline stinks too much and is very sooty.
