Interesting for sure.

Add to your observations...

Many are opting out this election cycle for absentee ballots. The National Association of Letter Carriers has come out and endorse Harris/Waltz.

Let's see, the absentee ballots will come via USPS and be delivered back via the USPS. Of I am sure there will be no shenanigan's.  ;)

General Off Topic / Some Observations

I?ve been ordering a lot of stuff from Amazon lately, and occasionally the delivery date is on a Sunday.  Frequently, the package isn?t delivered on Sunday, but is delivered the following day.  Recently, one particular package wasn?t delivered and Amazon noted that it was necessary to pick up the package at our local post office. I thought this was unusual, as the postal service usually at least, leaves a message in the mailbox, rather than having the shipper advise me. Went to the post office and picked up the package. The postal clerk advised me that it?s actually Amazon employees who deliver the packages on Sundays, using U.S. postal vehicles and wearing postal uniforms. In my opinion, it reflects badly on the postal service, as the Amazon employees delivering the packages on Sundays are slackers, at least in my neighborhood. I?m surprised the postal union has allowed an outside group to interject themselves into postal work.

Had to buy some fencing for our new property. Locally, none of the stores had the needed fencing in stock.  However, a Tractor Supply store about 25 miles away supposedly had some. Well?yes they had some, but the price was $70.00 more per roll. One would think that prices would be the same throughout a store chain.  Nope!  It seems that in my area, we have multiple farming stores, so the fencing is competitively priced.  In areas lacking competition, it?s priced at whatever the market will bear.  I was really surprised at the big difference in price.  Well?capitalism is alive and well. I?m not complaining, but competition is a good thing.  We eventually found the fencing we needed, for less than we expected. So, it does pay to shop around.

It's a good thing the net wasn't on Wednesday night. Man... It was off and on horrible. No rain, light rain, heavy rain, unbelievable rain with lots of loud thunder. I just left the HF radio OFF and turned the antenna switch to ground everything. When we have heavy rain, we get what I call high land flooding. That's when the rain is so heavy that the uplands get some flooding because the water can't run off to the swamps and streams fast enough.

Stephen,

I was on the local repeater with a ham that usually checks into the ERIN net. He told me that he couldn't and the QRM was awful.

Oh well. Take care Brother.

It was hard to figure out who was trying to pass traffic and where my slot was. As bad as the QRM was, I just took a guess that the previous station was finished and it was my turn. I was hoping that I was sending mine at the right time, and apparently it went through. Probably wasn't a fun time to be NCS! Thanks for dealing with it, sir!

The storm is on a line to end up about 40 miles west of me if it survives much beyond tomorrow.  Good thing Thursday I am headed to Currituck for a 3 day weekend in my tag along camper.  Love that.  Next week it gets winterized.  Hate doing that.

To me, the critical information is WHO his source of inside information on Trumps golf tee time was.  IT's been clearly stated that Pres Trumps golf schedule was not published, so someone gave the restricted information to the shooter.  Begin peeling that onion and see who suddenly drops dead at a large government building.

AP - Washington DC
We morn the passing of Bob Barf, deputy
chief of the Department of Nondescript Things.
Bob died from Epstein's' Syndrome in the
presence of a select group of his coworkers.
His body was cremated shortly before his death
in a very private ceremony.

Apparently he was hiding in the trees for the previous 12 hours.
