I chatted with NCScout via email today concerning our Sunday Net. He encouraged us to try again and was hoping we would try again this coming Friday March 16, 2018. He is doing an advanced RTO class and will be in the thick of it Friday night.
So here is the SOI for a UP Net this coming Friday night.

the forum. If you are not a member of UP no worries as you will still be able to
read traffic.
Call Signs: Use your existing FCC call sign. I will call CQ using Unchained along with my call
sign - KC1***
Comments: This will start out as a directed net then become a round robin net. No specific
topics will be covered, however, if you want to suggest one please do so ahead
of time via this subject line or when you check in.
For an emergency, I know some folks have suggested CW or internet Comms. I think it is a good idea however I am
just not there yet.
I hope that ya'll can attend.

I will try to make it again. Maybe a topic could be, what kind of radio, power used and antenna are you using to make the net?

I will make an effort to be on! With two little ones you never know what you are going to be able to do from minute to minute...

Bump!
Just want to get this SOI out there again so nobody gets left out.

I am on Freq. My noise level is S7. No worries we will give it a try.
-
I am listening to the freq now, about S9 noise floor here.
-
nothing heard, either band
-
We are talking on the default frequency - I think about 5 of us are able to make contact.
-
b-c, I use to live over in Hoosick Falls, and kept my plane at the Bennington Airport. Nice to meet up with you on 75 meters.
-
We had six folks on this evening's net Freq. 3.863Mhz.
We had a few others BUT the band was wacky and was unable to bring 'em in.
For you folks who made the net, what can we change to get more folks from the forum.

I was running late and was only able to listen in. Hope to get to join in on the next one.
-
Cool Dorton.
I am glad you heard us.
We had one guy from Florida but we lost him into the noise.
Thx for checking in.

I remembered too late... I think I heard the tail end...Hope to catch the next one!

No worries wynnp4. I know you live a busy lifestyle especially with the rug rats.

I logged on to the net as a guest (before joining the forum).
I was able to establish comms with Net Control and transmit some info, but the band kind of faded out on me. My 80/40M dipole is rigged for NVIS, and is only up about 20 feet, so I was surprised I even got through. Next time I may try to rig up a slanting dipole and aim it at PA.
It was fun and I'm looking forward to trying again.

Yeah, I heard ya' at about a 5/6 then you dropped into the weeds :'(
NCScout of Brushbeater.com fame will be on the air this coming Saturday night at 2000 hrs. I will see if we have a large enough group to do a impromptu net.
Stay tuned for the SOI.
