Tuesday, with the help of my neighbor I put up the NVIS (Near Vertical Inductance Skywave) antenna i had been working on for the last several weeks.
Last night I spoke to a whole slue of folks. As far west as New Mexico, Iowa, Michigan, as far north as Maine, east as Massachusetts, Long Island NY, and as far south as Cuba.
I will write up the build however I just wanted to share that I was shocked to have been able to communicate so far with a cloud warmer.
Anyhow, a article and pics to follow.

Cool beans JohnyMac. The antenna I used to log in on the UC Preppers net is an NVIS dipole (fan dipole for 80M and 40M up about 25 ft). It didn't work too well for that, but we could have transferred info if necessary. I have been been using it on nets in FL and GA.
