Kudo's on the continuing ERIN Nets.
Signal report, yesterday's Net on 40m 7.233 Mhz @1800 was great signal/reception on my Yeasu 857D using multi-band Dipole about 40' up.  The 1830 80m 3.970 Mhz Net not so much, could barely make out any clear voice.  Bands are still iffy that time of day in my QTH WNC Mountains.
Still great to keep attempting reception.

I think that's a good idea. As this BS Virus winds down, we probably need fewer and fewer nets. Sorry, I missed Friday night. I looked at the clock and it was about 15 past 6 so I was going to catch the 6:30 PM 80 meter net. The next time I looked at the clock it was 6:45 PM. Oooops.

No net this evening, May 28th.

Sorry folks but no net this evening. I am also pushing the ERIN net to one day a week, Tuesdays.

As things start to wind down and with people enjoying daylight saving's time activities it makes total sense to cut back due to participation.

If things start to heat up ala Minneapolis, Chinese virus, illegal Governors edicts, etc. we may add days to pass traffic as needed.

Update June 2, 2020 PACE

With most of the country moving to Daylight Saving's Time and the onslaught of warmer weather, most folks are staying outside and working on projects till dusk; Consequently, many folks would like to make the net but are missing it. Starting June 2, 2020 the net's PACE will change to below.

The net will be at 2000 hrs eastern every Tuesday with the primary band being 40-meters. The alternate will be on 80-meters. The frequencies are listed below.

I am not aware of how busy this frequency or near-by frequencies will be so, I suspect we will be moving up the band to find clean air. Be prepared. Hopefully if we move, I will post the new frequency in real time here. 

If you are new to the net please read the rules of engagement below and be prepared to make your report as outlined below too.

Alternate        3.970 Mhz LSB

I would like to thank all of the folks here who are participating in the nightly net. To help in having a smooth net going forward, I have put together the following "rules of engagement". Please share with any like minded folks who might check-in or just want to listen.

1) I will be on frequency 15-minutes before the net starts for pre-check-ins. If there is a lot of splatter or someone is using this frequency, move on up the band till you hear the group. I will try to post the new frequency on this thread.
2) I will call CQ followed by my call and "this is net control for the ERIN Daily Net". It would be great if folks could check in early so not to have a mad rush at the start of the net. If you are late to the net, no worries. I will ask for additional check-ins several times during the net. PLEASE wait till I do this.
3) The net is a "directed net" which means; check-in and do not talk till net control calls your call.
4) Once a station makes their report and you have a question or want to make a comment say "CONTACT". Net control will recognize you and either let you ask your question or make your comment IF there is no other priority traffic waiting. Be patient.
5) Once you are called to give your report you will make a modified "BORIS/CYRIL" report
     A) Location
     B) Traffic to report *
     B) Weather Report
     C) Wuhan Virus report
     D) Unrest in your AO if any
     E) Request for help if needed
6) After the net is closed people may want to stay on air and use the frequency to ragchew which is great and I will probably join in. With that written, the reason for this net is to share information not ragchew. Save that for after the net.

If you have any questions or wish to make a comment, use this thread.

* It is encouraged that if you hear someone and net control obviously can not, say CONTACT. Once recognized say "I have traffic for insert call sign here this is insert your call sign here". As an example: "I HAVE TRAFFIC FROM KA7FOX THIS IS KC3LRS".

Yes, thanks JohnyMac. The noise was up and down on 40m for me. I could hear you at about a 5/5 and then you’d drop down in the weeds. I’m glad to at least receive you. Looking forward to more Nets.

I am asking this question publicly as some folks might be able to learn too. What antenna are you using and how high is it off the ground? Is it an inverted 'V', horizontal, or other?

I'm using a 160 meter flattop dipole, 30 feet up at the feed point, in an L shape. Hot leg West and Ground leg South. I also use an 80 meter "Hamstick" Vertical about 30 feet up and offset about 7 feet from the tower with no groundplane radials. I also have a 10 meter Vertical at about 30 feet up and offset about 6 feet from the tower with no groundplane radials. The 10 meter and 80 meter are on a two position antenna switch. Everything comes back to an LDG 250 watt autotuner. For VHF and UHF I have a whole bunch of antennas up at 30 feet, 40 feet and 50 feet.

I've got a QSO at 59+20 just above 7.233   Net is good at 7.238.  Good net Johny.  It's always interesting to directly hear reports of how the rest of the country is handling our problems.

Oops... Sorry I missed the Net. The grass was really getting high and the weatherman said rain was coming so I was mowing when the net took place. I never miss the net on purpose. I'll try to be ready for the next one.
