Title: July 2023 ERIN Nets
Post by: JohnyMac on July 03, 2023, 09:23:10 AM
The next ERIN net will be Tuesday July 18, 2023, starting at 1900 hrs. eastern with the digital ERIN net. The PACE for that net is as follows,

1) At 1900E hrs. digital net (NCS is usually on frequency at 1850E hrs.) will commence.

Primary         7.110 Mhz USB Contestia 4/250, 1000 on the Waterfall
Alternate       3.588 Mhz USB Contestia 4/250, 1000 on the Waterfall
Contingency  This email thread
Emergency    Text. Do I have your cell phone number?

When the Net Control Station (NCS) calls for check-in's this is the reporting format,

de your call, your call/name/location/W-TFC or No-TFC/ de your call

All traffic (TFC) will be passed via MFSK32. I suggest using the FLmsg ICS-213 or the AmRRON Custom forms.

NCS will convert mode from C-4/250 (Contestia 4/250) to MFSK32 and then instruct check-ins one at a time to pass TFC.

Once TFC is complete, NCS will return mode back to C-4/250 for the wrap up of the QSO.

2) At 2000E hrs. (I am typically on frequency at 1950E hrs.) will commence.

Primary         7.192 Mhz LSB or higher till clear air (New as May 2023)
Alternate       3.909 Mhz LSB or higher till clean air
Contingency  This email thread
Emergency    Text. Do I have your cell phone number?

The above SOI will be used at first, if the interwiz is taken down through Executive Order -- Assignment of National Security and Emergency Preparedness Communications Functions. Then we will develop and share a revised SOI.

I can't find the ERIN net frequency. All I can hear is 13 colony people. Where is the net?

Sorry Gentlemen but I fell asleep in my Lazy-boy and completely forgot about the net. Woke up at 0400E hrs. this morning to go to the head and remembered that I had forgotten the net.  I guess I am getting old.  :lmfao:

Sounds like it would have been a tough net though with the 13 Colonies contest in progress.

We will proceed with the nets, God willing on Tuesday July 11th.

Sorry that I missed the net tonight. I looked for it but couldn't find it. I listened for a little while on 7.192 for while but it didn't sound like the ERIN net.

No worries PKv.

I am going to switch the net from 7.237-ish to 7.192-ish going forward. It is just too busy around the original frequency. Glad you made it Zip.

The phone net was short with only three folks on. Digital was similar in attendance with five. It is July and it has been my experience with the sun setting later in the day, more frequent unsettled weather, and family attendance drops off.

Johnny Mac thanks for the warm welcome look forward to future nets
Yeah summertime hurts all nets usually but glad to be on board. Any other nets you know of that may have topics of interest besides local 2 meter Ares and emcom nets?

I probably will not be on the net tonight, as the storm front should be in my vicinity at net time.  I'm watching it on radar, and the NWS has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for my county until 21:00 ET, 20:00 CT.   Hopefully no tornadoes, we haven't had one in the county for a month.
