On Friday April 21, an astronaut on the ISS will speak with Middle School students in Montross VA.

The ARISS radio contact with the school is scheduled for April 21, 2023 at 1:34:31 pm EDT. You should be able to hear the downlink on 145.800 MHz starting around 1:35 and LOS should be around 1:44

That's relatively close to me. I might have the foresight to set an alarm to listen in.

Well, THAT was cool. I poked the 145.800FM into my scanner rotation and when they were in range, I listened to the downlink portion. Thanks for the HEADS-UP!!

I took the wife out to the shack and listened on the station rig with the arrow j-pole up around 22 ft. They were a good S8 in the middle of the qso down here in FL. I could also hear them on an HT with a 1/4 wave whip, but not all that well. Not something you do every day, kind of cool.

I completely forgot. Well not quite, I picked up my mom from rehab (learning to walk again after a week in the hospital with no movement) and dropped her off at her digs. Then quickly forgot. :facepalm:
