« on: January 09, 2025, 11:22:21 AM »
The SitRepNet HF Digital Net survey will end on February 15, 2025 after which the results will be posted.

The more people who take this survey, the more meaningful the results will be. Please share this link as traffic on the nets you check in to.

This is an anonymous survey, so there is no good way to prevent someone from taking it more than once. Please keep this accurate by submitting only once. Thank you.

Thanks! So far, 15 responses, and it's only been out a few hours. I'm afraid I may have created a monster when it comes time to tally everything up and turn the data into useful information. I'm not ready to pay for the full version of the survey software, but depending on the number of responses, that may be the best way. We'll see. By the way, I'll note here that ERIN is the hands-down favorite of all the nets I participate in. The key is the easy-going, yet disciplined way you handle it, and the fact that ERIN actually passes traffic, which is kind of the whole point of nets in the first place. So many nets are just check-in and no traffic. Huge THANK YOU for all you do, sir!

Thank you sir.

I received a similar comment from a former attorney for the ARRL out in Connecticut on the phone net. He attempts to make the net when he can and likes it.

I don't know nuthin' bout no survey but I can tell you why I like the ERIN net. While there must be some order and procedure, I will not tolerate having to fill out somebody's wet dream forms in order to pass traffic. In an emergency situation, those self-important asswipes can shove those formal forms up their butts. When something important needs to be addressed, it doesn't need somebody's special form or special procedure. It needs to be passed here and now. Hmmm...... I guess I'm just goal oriented.

I can see the need/benefit of standardized forms and that sort of thing, and I generally support that, but you touched on a sandspur in my shoes. There is just too much "Red Dawn role playing" for my taste in some of the other nets. I want to stick to the comms - passing traffic that will benefit myself, my local prep group, and also benefit others as I pass along local conditions where I am. Perhaps what they are preparing and practicing for will be reality, but I can tell you that having passed the 70 year mark, I have nothing to contribute in that case other than comms. I'll also say here that I've got no problem with the "Red Dawn" folks, and I wish them well, and I will gladly work and cooperate with them in any way that I can. It's just not my thing, and I far more enjoy the atmosphere and culture I find in ERIN.

@ Stephen, 70-year mark? Congratulations!!! Next month I will belong to that club too.

If there is a Red Dawn moment, I have already come to understand that I will be part of the auxiliary. I will not be a ground pounder out on patrol fighting the new .gov. My value and yours too Stephen and PKv, is what we have between our ears. We will be fighting .gov but more in a cerebral way. In many cases fighting .gov through helping our immediate MAG, community, family, etc.

I have molded ERIN around passing TFC that is relative today which is the basics, weather, go juice, supplies, local unrest, and yes military movement as that movement can pre-tell of something bad coming down the pike.

Anyway, thank you ladies & gentlemen for your kind words.

Hearing about Red Dawn so much lately. My husband and I watched the movie last weekend, it's intense! Thankful for you guys, sharing what's between your ears is very valuable.
