Here is the PACE for the March 8, 2020 net. BETTER LATE THEN NEVER
Remember, if a frequency is being used, search up frequency to see if the net has moved. Also, I will post on this thread a change in frequency if it happens.
The propagation predictor is attached to this email. As you see on the predictor, 40-meters will be 88% or better at 1700 hrs eastern from the Canadian/USA border to GA./FL border.
1700 hrs eastern - Mode phone SW Radio Frequency's 1600 hrs eastern
P= 7.229 Mhz LSB* 7229. Khz
A= 3.970 Mhz LSB 3970. Khz
C= Unchainedpreppers on this thread no need to sign-up you can follow as a guest
E= Text. If I do not have your number drop a dime and give it to me.
* Understand, that as we move out of the propagation doldrums 40-meters is really coming alive. I hope that 7.229 will be clear however I assume we will be moving up the frequency to find clear air. Stay tuned.
Rules of engagement:
1) Let the group know here using this thread, if you are planing to join the net. For PERSEC reasons DO NOT write down your call sign.
2) Net Control will be on the air about 15-minutes before the start of the net collecting early check-ins.
3) The agenda for the first round;
> Any traffic you have to pass,
> Weather update for your area,
> Any local news that is relevant to preparedness that we all should be aware of,
> Any help that you, family member, friend, needs, and
It will be a round robin net starting with the first person who checks in and going around to all in order
of checking-in, then back to the first station that checked-in. At that time we will go around a second
time. The nights topic will be, A discussion of the nCoV-2019 virus.
At the end of the first round, you can say, "73" and go QRT or hang for the discussion. It is more
important that you have an opportunity to check out your equipment than to hang and rag chew.
It is encouraged that if you hear someone and net control obviously can not, say "I have traffic for
insert call sign here this is insert your call sign here". As an example: "I HAVE TRAFFIC FROM KA7FOX
THIS IS KC3LRS". I think we all will be able to hear all stations this net but it is better to be prepared.
4) Invite like-minded hams that might like to participate.
5) Have fun!
Looking forward seeing ya' all on the air Sunday.

I'll do my best to be there. I wrote the time and freq's down.
-
I plan on participating. Don't forget the time change tonight
-
Looking to join this day at 16:00 - been watching the 7.229 spectrum this afternoon and there is good traffic but no one I can hear on this freq. - Gunnerdog
-
gunnerdog, net at 1700 eastern unless you are in mountain which it would be 1600 hrs \"/
-
1700 or 1600 eastern. I see both posted.
-
What????? I just set everything up for 1600 hours and there was a conversation going on. Now its supposed to be at 1700? OK, I'll come back at 1700.
-
1700 hrs eastern
I am on freq now and it is clear. If anybody wants to shout out do a CQ under the ERIN/UNCHAINEDPREEPers handle. I am in the kitchen working on dinner and I will come back on. ;D
-
We are on 7.229 but will probably go to 7.231.
-
I'm listening on 7.231, checking 7.229 occasionally. I thought I heard PK on 229.
-
At 7.231Mhz
-
Yeah, I'm trying to check in. I'm hearing PK fine.
-
Bummer. I did not hear ya' and we just 73'd.
I have to figure out why I am not hearing you. PK didn't hear you either.
We had a station from FL, Va. and of course NE PA.
Jackalope, or anybody for that matter want to try again on 75/80 at 1930 hrs? 3.970 Mhz?
-
Negative contact from SEOK.
Will try 75m later
Are your stated times for Eastern time zone?
73
Thanks for trying.
This is important.

I might be able to try 3.970 at 7:30 PM but I have the TAPRN net at 3.818 at 9 PM. I haven't had my coffee yet so I'm going to run out for a little while and drink coffee and play with the internet on my tablet.
-
LDG, GREAT!
Yeah, Eastern. ;D
Dinner is at 1830 eastern so when I am done I will turn on the radio, probably around 1900 hrs. Hope to see ya' Brother!
-
Cool PK.
I checked into TAPRN last week but all of a sudden the band went squirrely at my QTH.

yep. I heard you. I don't think Abb heard you as well as I did.
-
Man O' man 75/80 is busy tonight. I am on 3.856 Mhz
-
Well, that was fun. There were only 3 of us there but we could all hear one another. I'll be checking in to the TAPRN net at 9 PM.

Man I want to be able to monitor these. The good news is that I am in the process of buying my first house and, when I do, there is a big tree in the backyard that I can through up an inverted V in to monitor the nets.
-
I wasn't able to be out here/there tonight. Unexpected plans. Just back on monitoring the radio. 80m/40m is super busy.
Maybe better luck next month.

Patriotman, I don't know what you have for a receiver, but if you don't have a full blown radio receiver, you can get an SDR receiver for about $25 that plugs in your computer and you can attach an outside wire antenna to it and hear everything just as well as a regular radio. I don't need one but I've been tempted to buy one just for fun. There are websites that you can also go to and tune in any frequency you want and just use the internet as your receiver. I was amazed that on some frequencies I was able to hear better than with my transceiver.
-
NCISLANDER, since you couldn't be with us for the Unchained Preppers Net, you can still catch the TAPRN net at 9 PM on 3.818 Mhz, on 80 meters. It starts in about 40 minutes.
-
SDR are incredible for what you can receive and pick out on the Bands. Another highly regarded SDR is the SDRplay receivers.

Appreciate the Heads-Up pkveazey. I'm monitoring.
-
80m seemed to fall apart @2055est. Difficult tuning any stations for TAPRN from my QTH.
-
The TAPRN net had a contester 1 Khz down from 3.818 and wouldn't move so they moved up to 3.829. I could hear everybody but there was a lot fading in and out on some of them.
