ERIN/Unchainedpreppers Net Sunday February 17, 2019

Good morning folks. Due to propagation and folks schedules there will be two (2) nets tomorrow, Sunday February 17, 2019 for this month. One will be at 1900 hrs eastern on 75/80-meters and the second will be at 2000 hrs on 160-meters.

    Wow tapping maple trees already.  It's still too cold up here, it won't get above the mid 20's this weekend.  I'm hoping to start tapping in mid-March.

OK, we had Jackalop, Dan, PK, Jimmy, and James on the 1900 net tonight. At 2000 hrs local I will see some of you on 1.891 Mhz. There is someone on 1.892 Mhz currently but 1.902 is free. IF 1.891 is too noisy we will move to 1.902 Mhz which seems to be free air.

Jackalope, I heard ya' but you were just above then below, then just above the noise level. I tried both of my antennas but alas I could not get ya'.

OK, JohnnyMac,
I heard you but it was a little too rough to have a decent QSO. There is a steady noise and your signal comes up above it and then fades back down below it. I tried all my magic tricks and decided to just listen to what bits and pieces I can hear.

I can hear you down in the noise on 1.902, but my noise level is really high tonight.

No worries Jackalope. The guys using 1.892 Mhz were using linear amps up around 1K. OUCH! Anyway, they were there before us and it is what it is.

For the rest of Unchainedpreppers here is a short AAR of this evening's net.

We had five hams plus myself on the 1900 hrs. net. Jackalope faded into the weeds pretty quickly after signing in however, the remaining five stations had a good QSO. Stations were located in NE NY, VA, WI. MO. IL. and of course NE PA. After several rounds we closed the net. All were invited to the 2000 hrs net on 160-meters.

After we got booted off of the original scheduled frequency of 1.891 Mhz as there was a QSO party on 1.892 Mhz. We moved to 1.902 Mhz. where there was clear air. Pkveazey join the 160-meter net. He had a hard time RXing me so we concluded the net for this session. Jackalope, reported that I floated in and out of the weeds (noise).

The next ERIN/Unchainedpreppers Net will be March 17, 2019. A P.A.C.E will be sent out several days before the net. Mark your calendars.
