Title: December 2022 ERIN NET SOI
Post by: JohnyMac on November 30, 2022, 10:22:06 AM
Here is the SOI for this coming Tuesday's net. The December primary phone net frequency will now be 3.964 Mhz LSB up or down the band a few clicks till we find clear air.

The next ERIN net will be Tuesday December 27, 2022, starting at 1900 hrs. eastern with the digital ERIN net. The PACE for that net is as follows,

1) At 1900 hrs. eastern the digital net (I am on frequency at 1850 hrs eastern) will commence.

Primary         3.588 Mhz USB Contestia 4/250 1000 on the Waterfall
Alternate       7.110 Mhz USB Contestia 4/250 1000 on the Waterfall
Contingency  This email thread
Emergency    Text. Do I have your cell phone number?

When the Net Control Station (NCS) calls for check-in's this is the reporting format,

de your call/name/location/emergency traffic/ de your call

Once the NCS has gathered check-in's he/she will post the check-in's for corrections or additional check-in's.

The NCS will then start the reports portion of the digital net. Report format will be,

de your call/name/location/traffic if any/your report for around your AO, Covid, unrest, military movement, etc/weather/de your call

Suggestion...Pre type out your report then copy & paste it to your FLdigi when it is your time to give your report.

2) At 2000 hrs (I am typically on frequency at 1950 hrs. eastern) the voice net will commence.

Primary         3.964 Mhz LSB or higher till clear air
Alternate       7.279 Mhz LSB or higher till clean air
Contingency  This email thread
Emergency    Text. Do I have your cell phone number?

The above SOI will be used at first, if the interwiz is taken down through Executive Order -- Assignment of National Security and Emergency Preparedness Communications Functions. Then we will develop and share a revised SOI.

73 & God Bless,
Johnymac

I am looking forward to the digital net tonight. I bought a desk top tower and spent most of the weekend fine tuning the FLdigi, Flmsg, and Flamp, etc. Finally made a contact on the AHRN net (AmCon Radio Network) out of Colorado Sunday night.

See ya' on the air tonight.

I won't be transmitting tonight. My low bands antenna is on the ground for repair/improvements.

I checked in to the phone net for the first time in a long time. Tough conditions but I heard everyone, more or less.
My link dipole was dead on 80 meters, so I tried my nvis antenna on a whim.  Surprisingly it worked.  It is only up 18 feet. Next step is to look at the other antenna.

No worries Sir john.

Cooter, it was GREAT hearing you.

yeah there must have been a storm between us as there were crashes competing with you. Other than that you were fully readable.

Thanks for playing.

Yeah, it was rough copy tonight.  The QRM was +30 at my QTH, which made it a challenge.

Yep, that QRM was really annoying. He showed up about 5 minutes after the net started so I know he knew we were there. I had to turn on every filter that I had to kill him.

Good net Tuesday. Sorry that I was not as prepared on digital as I should have been.

Okay some background: My TS-590s and FLdigi works great on Win 7 but not well on Win 10. WINLINK does not work on anything from the past of Win 8.0 an earlier. I bought a new computer to just handle FLdigi and winlink which used Win 10 as its OS. The TS-590s has baulked using Win 10 for FLdigi. Winlink works great though!

I have had several folks help me trying to get the 590s, FLdigi and Win 10 to work harmoniously together but alas, it is still a challenge. One day it works then the next it does not.

After the phone net Tuesday, a regular on the ERIN digital net called me on the phone and we spent ~2-hrs tweaking FLdigi and the 590s to work. We are pretty sure that we figured it out but alas, not FLamp or FLmsg.

I will join a few AmRRoN digital nets this week to make sure the fixes are permanent.

January 2023 SOI coming soon.
