Antenna Up!

I purchased a G54V Plus, 10-80 meter dipole antenna from Radio Works and finally got it up today. Did some "rag chewing" in 20 & 40 Meter bands. The gents I spoke with told me that my signal was 20db. One contact was in Toronto, Quebec and the other was Memphis, Tennessee.

Once I am done here and finish the dishes, I will try 80/75 meter and try to make a contact.

With that written, I would like to start up a prepping net on either 40 or 80/75 meter. If you are interested in participating post a yeah here. Once we get 6+ folks we will work on a frequency and time to meet. My suggestion is to start off once a week.

The sponsor will be Unchainedpreppers. For the first few nets I will MC then it will be a round robin with everyone taking a week.

Congratulations on the antenna, glad to hear that it works.  I'm in for the net. 75 or 40 meters works fine for me.  Oh, Toronto is in Ontario...the Quebecers aren't real fond of folks from Ontario, so they'd probably be insulted if anyone thought Toronto was in Quebec, it's a cultural thing.(I have one of my amateur radio licenses from Quebec)

I thought it was Quebeckers.  Or Quebeckians?  Maybe Quebeckites?  Or simply French Canadians.

The people of Quebec do call themselves Quebecois, but the locals here (we're close to the border) call them Quebecers.  It's funny because we don't call the folks from Ontario, Ontarians or anything like that, we call them Canadians.  The Quebecois are a people unto themselves; they're interesting folks.  The local park flies three flags, the U.S., then the State flag, and then the Canadian flag.
